Your role
As the Senior Wireless Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for strategic direction and work towards execution to ensure wireless products are developed, tested, registered and launched with precision. This includes working with external product development and global market access partners to identify requirements, develop and complete wireless compliance plans, coordinate wireless testing activities, review wireless testing results and partner with wireless registration agencies to acquire wireless registration for our products. This position requires candidates to maintain their knowledge of global wireless standards (current and emerging) that affect Kidney Care products.
What you'll be doing
- Ownership and overall coordination and management of wireless compliance activities across all platforms.
- Develop and drive product wireless registration strategy to facilitate market access in the intended market(s) and lead wireless compliance issues throughout the lifecycle of the product.
- Ensure innovative interpretation of global wireless compliance standards for medical and non-medical markets to enable globalization portfolio growth.
- Translate complex requirements, standards, and regulations with a high level of accuracy.
- Prepare wireless test methodology to define and characterize wireless performance in development.
- Will work closely with software, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to lead and sustain radio module life cycles and connected system obsolescence mgmt.
- Oversight and review of final design verification and validation wireless reports by providing concise conclusions and direction.
- Lead 3rd party partnerships for test capability, global market access, and report/document accuracy with global certification bodies.
- Collaborate with radio manufacturers, wireless testing laboratories and internal hardware and software teams to ensure the product (and radio) can be configured as the need arises by applicable wireless testing standards.
What you'll bring
- Knowledgeable of wireless technologies and related industry standards, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, etc.
- Understanding of wireless regulations, standards, testing, and registration procedures applicable to wireless radios sold worldwide including testing documentation, certification requirements and procedures.
- Strong electronics background is preferred.
- Experience in resolving sophisticated technical problems using strong analytical skills.
- Experience with medical device product development lifecycle, including risk management preferred.
- Experience in Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Defect Tracking and Traceability Experience with EMC design tools, automated EMC testing tools, electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) preferred.
- Ability to perform diagnostics and correct EMC /Wireless issues in conjunction with design engineers.
- Familiarity with medical device EMC standards/testing (IEC 60601-1-2).
- Knowledge of FDA's guidance on design controls and software validation (IEC 62304), as well as ANSI/IEEE standards for EMC and wireless engineering
Education and/or Experience.
- Bachelor degree in engineering required, master degree preferred.
- 5+years’ experience with RF Testing and regulatory certification for major regulatory authorities such as FCC (US), ISED (Canada), CE (EU), MIC (Japan) and others
- 2+ years of experience with wireless compliance engineering

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $88,000 to $121,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
