The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role on the Optum Home & Community SG&A Finance team to support a variety of FP&A functions, including budget and forecast, financial reporting and analysis, building financial models and developing clear & compelling reports in support of various business requests.
If you are located within commutable distance from Irvine, CA, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support and participate in the month end, annual budget, and periodic forecast end-to-end processes
- Perform trend analysis to identify unique outliers or indicators of changes
- Perform variance analysis and bridge financial results across all periods of interest
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
- Demonstrate high degree of accountability
- Collaborate in matrix team environment

Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of financial analysis or related experience
- Proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, Power Query, Formulas)
- Advanced SQL skills (writing queries, joins, creating tables/views)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- Healthcare financial budgeting, forecasting reporting and analysis
- Proven familiarity with tools like Hyperion, Essbase, PeopleSoft Financials
- Solid interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented; solid organizational, analytical critical thinking skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities, deadlines and changing priorities
- Possess initiative, be self-starter, self-directed, high motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proven solid analytical background and attention to details
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills
- Effective prioritization and organization to meet multiple deadlines
- Motivation to deliver high-quality results through thorough analysis

California Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $58,300 to $114,300 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
