Overview
As the IT Systems Administrator Manager, you are also responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. Serve as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. Recommend the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Identifies methods, solutions, and deliver project leadership and management in order to provide the highest levels of service and reliability to the organization.
You are responsible for guiding a team of employees to ensure project timelines and service levels align with company goals and objectives. This includes leadership, providing technical oversight for complex systems and day to day support requests, monitoring team performance via metrics, and communicating to management overall team progress.

Responsibilities
Create an inspiring and collaborative team environment with a culture of open communication;

Administer all aspects of a virtualized Microsoft and Linux server enterprise class data center;
Develops new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability;
Trains technical staff in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired;
Detect, analyze and resolve system issues associated with server hardware, operating systems and applications software;
Ensure system changes are implemented correctly for all affected servers and personal computers and troubleshoot associated issues;
Routinely monitor system performance;
Perform system backups and recovery;
Install, maintain and troubleshoot VMware including vCenter, vSphere Replication, and Site Recovery Manager;
Establishes guidelines and methods for the installation and management of host computer operating systems, disk arrays, networking, tape libraries and other components;
Install, maintain and troubleshoot Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and IIS;
Administer company-wide storage systems;
Install, maintain and troubleshoot Storage Area Networks;
Ensure disk I/O performance and capacity planning;
Administer telecommunication systems as needed;
Administer systems supporting telecommunication software;
Develop and maintain system documentation to track system and server administration;
Provide customer support, including analyzing and resolving user problems;
Conduct user training for various Information Technology systems;
Periodically review Information Technology systems and recommend improvements;
Evaluate purchasing options and make recommendations regarding appropriate IT products and the most cost effective pricing;
Ensure maintenance and security of server computing environment;
Meet performance standards and expectations
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science Business Management, or similar discipline from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
- 10+ years’ experience with all components of a distributed virtualized enterprise-class data center environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage timelines.
Ability to work independently.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personnel.
Advanced knowledge and expertise on a range of computer and networking software and hardware systems and related technologies.
Ability to install, configure, and maintain personal computers, servers, networks, and all related hardware and software.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Ability to analyze and assess server/network architecture requirements and determine optimum cost effective solutions.
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
Computer/network capacity planning skills.
Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows/Linux data center based environments.
Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks.
Significant experience with operating system virtualization.
Experience with monitoring systems.
Ability to mentor other team members.
Ability to architect, design, and implement complex data center systems and applications.
