Overview
The primary role of the Senior Manager of Pharmacy Pricing and Underwriting is to lead the organization’s pricing and underwriting process for managed pharmacy health centers and health systems. Responsibilities include assisting in the creation and implementation of pricing and underwriting policies and procedures, development and enhancement of analytical tools and methodologies, supporting engagement with clients, consultants, and brokers, and supporting market leading pricing and underwriting strategies.

This is a remote-based position within the Continental US.
Preferred Experience Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or other critical thinking major; advanced business degree (MBA) CPA preferred
- Experience in PBM, Pharmacy and 340B
- Developing knowledge of payor, pharmacy, retail, GPOs and the contracting process within those organizations
- Experience leading and managing critical strategic projects
- Experience managing pricing processes that involve cross-functional partners
- Possess an in depth understanding of the various Legal and Compliance implications within Pharmacy/PBM in order to ensure risk mitigation
- Experience working with various levels of the organization including leadership, peers, and junior team members
- Experience developing financial models
- Experience performing competitive analysis to understand market position
- Expertise building models in Excel and other platforms
- Experience developing presentations to present business cases to senior executives
- Experience with statistical and/or predictive analysis
- Experience working with multiple data sources
- Strong understanding of the PBM/Pharmacy market, supply chain management and financial modeling.
- Proven ability to interpret and manage contracting legal language and terms
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into business impacts and actionable next steps
- Able to effectively manage competing priorities with strong sense of urgency
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence cross-functional stakeholders on complex business proposals and to accurately interpret business considerations and impacts
- Proven teamwork and collaboration skills with a demonstrated track record leading highly matrixed, cross-functional work teams comprised of analysts, sales persons, and account managers
- Applies appropriate interpersonal styles and communications methods to influence and build effective relationships with business partners (e.g. peers, functional partners, external vendors and alliance partners) typically mid management
- Ability to use analyze and use qualitative and quantitative data and incorporates understanding into decision criteria

Responsibilities
Work in partnership with Sales, Operations, Legal, and Account Management to win and retain clients through demonstrating Maxor’s value proposition
Support the development of Pharmacy financial offerings
Provide support with all Requests for Proposal requirements and positioning
Prepare financial models based on knowledge of customer needs, costs and financial goals
Analyze and use qualitative and quantitative data and incorporates understanding into decision criteria
Utilize economic, financial, and industry data to accurately diagnose business strengths and weaknesses by channel, as well as able to analyze and act on threats and business opportunities
Support the development of financial models and present deals in Executive Committee meetings
Execute the corporate contracting strategy as determined by established policies
Analyze, manipulate, and draw relevant conclusions based on research of the market, customer demands and Maxor’s bottom line
Coordinate activities necessary to put together pricing strategy for outside customers
Prepare financial pricing models to offer attractive deals to customers while ensuring Maxor’s ongoing financial success
Partner with Account Management to conduct analyses of performance of existing contracts
Ensure contract execution is consistent with contract terms and monitor consistency of contract terms across various customers
Present information in a meaningful and relevant manner to Maxor executives, potential customers, etc.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
Ensure staff is informed of product upgrades or enhancements in a timely manner
Develop and mentor departmental staff by providing career coaching; motivate departmental staff, individually and as a group; understand and support diversity; and establish an effective team
Qualifications
