We are seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Sr. Director of Software Development to join our organization. As the Sr. Director of Software Development, you will be responsible for leading a multi-location engineering team of a core portfolio product. This is a senior leadership role that requires exceptional organizational and planning skills, engineering management skills, strong people management skills, ability to manage competing priorities, proven collaboration and customer engagement experience, and expertise in managing complex enterprise scale software in regulated industries (preferably in software based medical device development or healthcare IT).
Responsibilities:
- Experience in the Enterprise Imaging healthcare IT field
- Engineering and delivery of products on schedule and with high quality in accordance with the established quality standards.
- Functional financial results which impacts business performance
- Collaborating with product management to help define product roadmaps and developing delivery plans.
- Work with cross-functional teams including business development, project management, other engineering disciplines, quality, configuration management, logistics, and manufacturing to plan, design, test and implement software products and their supporting documentation.
- Interact with customers on projects, product features and issues
- Monitor, mentor, and guide a team of software engineers and architects in their project assignments and ensure team motivation and morale.
- Ensuring that the products’ architecture and design is aligned to markets and end users needs and trends.
- Bring business acumen, insights, and industry knowledge into the product development life cycle
- Pursues a program of self-development using selected reading, seminars, and participation in continuing education.
- Identifies and communicates possible improvements in the work process for customers and peers.
- Build and maintain collaboration across multiple sites in a distributed development environment
- Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management.
Required Capabilities:
- Develop and provide short term strategy & direction to one or more engineering functions.
- Identify and evaluate fundamental issues, providing strategy & direction for multiple functional areas in Product Engineering.
- Interact, provide input with internal & external executive level management.
- Lead activities of one or more functional areas through subordinate managers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of the assigned area.
- Oversee team(s) to develop new methods and solve company-wide matters.
Technical Skills:

- Java, Kafka,Oracle, Linux.
Required Experience:
- 12+ years related experience in software development or equivalent experience
- 7+ years functional management experience leading software engineering teams
Education Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent discipline or equivalent level of industry related experience
