The Associate Director of Enterprise Partnerships is a strategic and corporate development role accountable for driving the enterprise’s growth agenda through the cultivation and delivery of external partnerships that utilize capabilities across Optum and UHC to create innovative market solutions. The Associate Director will be dedicated to multiple concurrent deals, helping set the partnership vision and strategic direction, and leading early internal workstreams and implementation. The Associate Director will facilitate the transition to appropriate UHC and Optum business units for long-term management and execution to ensure long-term partnership success. The Associate Director will work closely with the senior team leaders (SVP, VP, Senior Directors) in collaboration with internal SMEs throughout the enterprise.

Primary Responsibilities
- Assisting broadly with deal execution, including deal positioning and valuation, thinking beyond Optum and UHC business units to develop UHG-level enterprise strategy and solutions
- Liaising with external partner program managers and internal business units, facilitating joint working group activities with cross-functional clinical, strategy, finance, and legal teams
- Leading development of partnership and value creation thesis, ensuring arrangements align with UHG strategic objectives through deep relationships with internal UHG and external partner executives (e.g., C-Suite, decision makers); creating market-differentiating solutions with products and services from across the enterprise
- Developing and leveraging executive presence and personal credibility to successfully navigating UHG’s robust business portfolio and leadership landscape, coordinating early partnership activities with internal and external stakeholders
- Organizing and coordinating the internal team’s day-to-day activities,
- Developing tools and dashboards to track deal activities; modeling long-term potential strategic and financial value generated by partnership activities
- Creating and managing post-transaction integration plan and ensuring successful hand-off to internal implementation/operating teams across the enterprise

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of strategic business development, corporate development, corporate strategy, or senior level consulting experience with 5+ years of experience in driving non-M&A transactions (e.g., JVs, affiliations, MSA agreements, etc.)
- Demonstrated track record of productive relationships with C-Suite and senior-level client executives
- Demonstrated success accessing and influencing senior level internal and/or external clients
- Deep experience collaborating and navigating large organizations and cross-functional teams on multi-year engagements
- Proven advanced communication and negotiating ability in the context of complex fortune 100 organizations
- Demonstrated advanced aptitude for conflict resolution and problem-solving
- Proven experience and expertise in the healthcare market, especially provider and/or payer
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven understanding of healthcare to include financial acumen, product, operations, technology operation, and data
- Proven understanding of and experience with UnitedHealth Group’s enterprise, business units, and capabilities

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
