Job Overview
Reports to the Logistics Manager. This position manages the coordination of shipping supplies and goods for the site; determines the labor needs to ensure the goods are delivered at the timeframe specified by the customer; utilizes project management skills to determine the size and scope of the work; and uses data to make recommendations for process improvements and cost savings.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedules load dates with Bulk carriers for Fresno Plant by communicating daily with Bulk carriers, Plant Production, and Naperville Bulk Planning
- Responsible for Dispatching Sugar Land Nalco Fleet Bulk and Package Transfer shipments along with planning Fresno Fleet Package transfer routes, backhauls, truck washes and equipment maintenance records.
- Utilize Ortec to create shipments for nalco package fleet. Also to assign drivers and trailers for both nalco fleet bulk and package.
- Tender loads daily to 3rd party bulk carriers and work with them to provide trailer #’s and ETA’s for our daily bulk loading report
- Work with nalco DS’s and also 3rd party carriers when they have issues with EVD and the control tower is unable to help due to it being an issue on our end.
- Work closely with the logistics team members, warehousing operations staff and North American carrier contacts to execute daily planning and routing of outbound shipments from Ecolab shipping facilities. This includes outbound customer shipments as well as inter facility replenishment demands.
- Execute routine execution of Delivery Due Lists converting customer orders into deliveries for shipment.
- Assist, dispatch, and direct freight carriers for outbound shipments working with shipping staff to ensure planned requirements are achievable.
- Combine customer orders, intercompany and intracompany orders to create loads for various Nalco plants and warehouses. This includes meeting daily delivery schedules, monitoring orders to ensure they are shipped on time, preparing master bills of lading for each load, and entering dates and routing information on all shipping orders for each load.
- Communicate and coordinate shipping requirements with freight carriers to ensure required equipment is available.
- Ensure shipments are routed via correct freight carrier to satisfy company objectives.
- Responsible for all shipments from designated Drop ship Vendors of North America as the TMS Control Tower Logistics Analyst. Directly interface with subsequent warehouses and aligned carrier operations team members.
- Communicates effectively and fosters clear cooperation with team & internal contacts to address service & cost interests. Monitor customer requirements to execute high service level.
- Assist with strategic network design projects to improve service and control cost.
- Use TMS Logistics software to analyze and design solutions that will enhance and improve current network operations. Validate and troubleshoot TMS software. Create and monitor rate tables for the carrier network.
- Use TMS Logistics software for network modeling to create rate targets in support transportation vendor negotiations to ensure Ecolab maintains a cost advantage.
- Manage urgent ad hoc and routine analytical requests to meet the needs of logistics management.
- Identify Systemic issues and recommend process improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 2-4 year or less of previous supply chain or manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Logistics, Transportation
- MS Access & Excel
- Experience and proficiency with SAP and/or WMS/TMS systems.
