Overview
The Systems Engineer I is responsible for driving projects to completion. Designs, develops, and deploys the solutions that have been assigned. Maintains and supports the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems. Administers, installs, and troubleshoots a variety of operating systems. Performs systems maintenance tasks, such as system back-up, recovery and file maintenance. Schedules, installs, and tests system software upgrades. Configures software and resolves technical problems. Monitors and maintains software licensing and maintenance agreements. Contributes to complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the design, development, and deployment of the enterprise's overall systems.
The position requires staying on top of the industry trend and new technologies for the system architecture.
Supports various computer systems including installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting desktops, printers, and servers both physical and virtual.
Performs systems maintenance tasks such as system back-up, recovery, file maintenance, and patching.
Designs, implements, and maintains enterprise IT solutions based on user / client needs, cost, required integrations and capacity. Including implementation plans, custom scripts, testing procedures, and security concerns to ensure operational reliability while striving for redundancy and availability.
Detect, analyze and resolve system issues associated with server hardware, operating systems and applications software.
Install, maintain and troubleshoot Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, IIS, SAN, NAS, Load Balancers, RDWeb, and other complex systems.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all aspects of a virtualized enterprise class data center.
Administer telecommunication systems as needed.
Trains technical staff and creates documentation in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired (Operating Systems, Disk Arrays, Networking, Tape Libraries, and other components).
Serve as top-level support for problem resolution on escalated issues from Helpdesk, Desktop, or System Admin I / II/ III.
Primary role: Works on projects/matters including those of high complexity
Secondary role: Works on tickets submitted to support business operations.
Responsible for ownership and overall success of complex projects involving multiple technologies and / or team members. Meeting deadlines and alerting management of any issues as they arise.
Ensure system changes are implemented correctly for all affected servers and personal computers and troubleshoot associated issues.
Conduct user training for various Information Technology systems.
Periodically Review Information Technology systems and recommend improvements.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science Business Management, or similar discipline from an accredited college or university
Or training and certification in:
- VCP - Cloud Management & Automation VCP-CMA
- VCP - Data Center Virtualization VCP-DCV
- MS: Enterprise Administrator Expert. MS-100, MS-101
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate. AZ-104
- or comparable certifications.
Experience:
- 7+ years of directly related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage timelines.
Ability to work independently.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personnel.
Ability to install, configure, and maintain personal computers, servers, networks, and all related hardware and software.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Ability to analyze and assess server/network requirements and determine optimum cost effective solutions.
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
Understanding of compliance driven environments and established frameworks (e.g. HIPAA, CIS, PCI, NIST RMF, etc).
Strong knowledge of WAF Systems, OSI Model, Cloud computing, and Apache.
Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, GPO, AD, SAN, NAS, PowerShell, IIS, Load Balancers, VDI / RDWeb, Backup Systems.
Expert knowledge of Exchange Management, VMware, MS Server 2012 – 2019, and Monitoring tools.
Ability to mentor other team members.
Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex data center systems and applications.
