We are seeking a highly accomplished Vice President of Engineering to join our organization. As the VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a multi-location engineering team for a clinical decision support business. This is a senior leadership role that requires exceptional organizational and planning skills, strong people management skills, ability to manage competing priorities, proven collaboration and customer engagement experience, and expertise in managing complex enterprise scale software. You will collaborate cross functionally and have strong communication skills with executive audiences.
This role may be based in Ireland or the United States.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience within healthcare software development.
- Experience in delivering high scale, mission critical products running across hyperscalers like Azure and private data centers is a plus
- 7+ years of people leadership experience, including experience creating a new talent pool as well as inspiring and mentoring managers and senior engineers
- Experience managing contracts and relationship with large 3rd party vendors
- Good understanding and experience of modern SDLC and agile methodologies (Example: SAFe, Spotify Model, Scrum, Kanban, etc.) with a bias towards action
- Ability to translate technical topics into language that Leadership can utilize
- Synthesize Product and Technology roadmaps and maintain expectations for all parties
- Push boundaries and foster a creative development organization of 100+ members and infuse the organization with modern technology and mindsets
- Ability to manage objectives, build business cases, define success metrics, and interpret P&L to optimize the business
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong understanding of project decomposition techniques for sizing and establishing delivery expectations
- Collaborate with the Sr. leadership team including the GM, Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Editorial, Customer Success and Implementations organisations
- Have a functional understanding of the following technology topics:
- Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Structured and Unstructured Search and related concepts (e.g. UX)
- Extract/Transform/Load (ETL)
- Model/View/Controller (MVC) web applications
- Reactive web applications
- Modern day Authentication & Authorization strategies
- API creation and lifecycle management
- Apple & Google mobile applications and stores
- Modern day security postures fit for healthcare settings
- Azure Cloud utilization and management
