Job Summary
The Director, Global Marketing will be instrumental in developing and implementing global marketing strategies for our Cell and Gene Therapies (CGT) technologies division. Reporting to the General Manager, the Director, Global Marketing will be critical in shaping the future of our cutting-edge CGT products and solutions, from early-stage product development through commercialization, with a focus on driving awareness, adoption, and market penetration. The candidate will work cross-functionally with Product Development, R&D, Commercial and Downstream Regional Marketing teams to ensure alignment with the overall business objectives and market needs.
The Director, Global Marketing will play a pivotal role in defining the market positioning, value proposition, and messaging for the global CGT technologies portfolio. This position will be responsible for managing a small team of marketers and closely collaborating with regional teams to execute tailored strategies in different geographies.
*Position may be worked remotely, with willingness and ability to be on-site in Lake Zurich, IL at 1-3 times per month to engage with the cross-functional teams.
Salary Range: $160,000-205,000
Position is eligible to participate in performance plan with a bonus target of 16% of the base salary.
Position is eligible to participate in our medium-term incentive plan.
Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of global marketing strategies for short to mid-term (1-3 years) for the CGT portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and long-term growth strategies.
- Contribute to the global product roadmap, working with Product Management and R&D to prioritize initiatives based on market needs, technological needs, and customer insights.
- Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape, customer needs, and industry trends to identify opportunities for product differentiation, growth, and innovation.
- Oversee the development and execution of regional downstream marketing campaigns and conference participation strategy, ensuring alignment with global upstream strategies while adapting to local market conditions.
- Collaborate with regional marketing teams and sales leadership to support the creation of tailored sales enablement tools, presentations, brochures, case studies, and other collateral to drive product adoptions and sales.
- Partner with Corporate Communications and other stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging, branding, and compliance across all communications.
- Lead the generation of market insights, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence to inform product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
- Conduct Voice of Customer research and customer segmentation to guide product development and marketing tactics.
- Develop and maintain key relationships with KOLs, industry experts, and academic partners to stay ahead of market trends and scientific advancements.
- Define and refine global value proposition, key differentiators, and messaging for CGT technologies products, ensuring consistency across all channels and touchpoints
- Lead the creation of the global go-to-market plans with collaboration of cross-functional teams, including the pricing, positioning, and promotional strategies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administrator, Life Sciences, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in marketing within the biotechnologies, pharmaceutical, or medical devices industry, with at least 5 years of leadership/supervisory experience.
- 5+ years of experience directly working in Cell and Gene Therapies industry.
- Proven track record in upstream marketing for complex, science-driven products, ideally in CGT, regenerative medicine, or related fields.
- Proficiency with Salesforce CRM.
- Ability to travel up to 20% for customer engagements, industry conferences, and team meetings including internationally.
