Job Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Group Leader, Packaging is responsible for safety, quality, efficiency and productivity of the Packaging Lines. With advanced and specialized packaging knowledge, oversees and manages the daily operation of a packaging lines. Performs functions relating to the packaging of drug products consistent with established Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), customer requirements and in conjunction with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Must be able to communicate well with others, have a teamwork focus, possess leadership skills and be willing to work overtime hours as required.
Essential Functions
- Day to day direction of employees in the packaging department
- Ensure packaging employees conduct all operations in a safe manner.
- Collect and Track production data on a daily basis and perform batch releases as per Track and Trace, reconciliation and reviews of packaging records
- Responsible for all packaging day to day operation and is proficient in all areas responsibility
- Train new and existing employees on all aspects of packaging operation and responsibilities with accordance of SOP and cGMP.
- Perform clearance to packaging room after cleaning.
- Initiates work orders to maintain equipment and facilities. Perform minor adjustment/ repairs to packaging equipment as necessary
- Perform challenge test and verify printed labels at the start and throughout packaging operation
- Perform and/or verify all data entry in batch records and log books as per SOPs

- Performs other functions as required or assigned.

Qualifications
Education
- High School or GED - Required
Work Experience
- 5 years or more in Manufacturing, Packaging and Pharmaceutical related experience - Required
Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrated time management and multitasking - Intermediate
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a level to facilitate the understanding terminology of the job. - Intermediate
- Demonstrated ability to train and coach packaging operators - Intermediate
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. - Intermediate
- Proficient in MS office suit. - Intermediate
- Strong Attention to detail. - Intermediate
Specialized Knowledge
- Knowledge of safety, cGMP and SOP
