Job Description
The CX/UX Designer is responsible for creating market-leading experiences for Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting software applications. Working closely with UX team members, Product Management and high performing agile teams, the CX/UX Designer translates complex customer and business requirements into simple, balanced solutions within the constraints of a complex technical framework. The candidate will drive Lean UX principles within the teams, producing products that empower and delight our customers. The candidate will be a driven self-starter and thrive in a fast paced, fast thinking environment.
Hybrid: Eight days a month we come together in our office to experience the value of connecting with colleagues. You will report to the Lead CX/UX Designer and work under the leadership of the Manager, CX/UX Design. This role is a part of Wolters Kluwer DXG U.S., Inc. | Business Unit - DXG TAA US Professional Market.
Required Job Qualifications (minimum):
- Domestic Travel up to 5% of work time to customers, vendors and other work groups.
- Education A formal education in UX Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, HCI, Information Architecture, or comparable professional experience preferred.
Experience, Knowledge And Tools
- 2+ years of experience as a User Interface Designer, UX Designer, or similar role
- Strong visual design sense, familiarity with branding standards, across portfolio suite of software products
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of design paradigms, examples, and best practices with web software applications
- Knowledge of Lean UX/Agile Methodologies
- Knowledge of user research methods: contextual inquiry, persona development, and usability testing
- Able to listen well to user needs, ask the right questions
- Experience working in distributed, collaborative teams and working directly with development groups for the implementation of designs
- A portfolio that demonstrates problem solving, innovation, and design across multiple platforms
- Fluency in best practices for Web-based information architecture and design as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
- Working knowledge of Software as a Service (SaaS) a plus
Technical Skills
- Figma, Miro, Sketch, InVision, Miro, Abstract or similar design tools
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, SASS, LESS, Angular, Bootstrap
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Work closely with UX team members, Product Management and Subject Matter Experts to ensure proper translation of business requirements that represent the customer point of view
- Participate in various customer research efforts to define the customer-driven user experience
- Produce necessary UX artifacts (journey maps, storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, UI specification deliverables, user testing, etc.) for hand-off to product teams
- Contribute and adhere to the development of the Design System
- Gain quick, continuous user feedback to help guide the design process
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT): issue identification and resolution
- Manage individual workload and deliver to agreed-upon project milestones
- Foster a creative, positive, efficient and collaborative team working environment
- Identify/mitigate risks to delivering solutions on time
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals at all levels
- Stay current, and even ahead of, design trends and industry standards
