The
Senior Manager Operations manages a large unit or several smaller units through subordinate managers who oversee units that are functionally similar. Establishes operational objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinate managers. This role may also be appropriate when the incumbent is required to develop a new unit or operation or to substantially upgrade existing operations. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Manages human, financial, and often physical resources, and develops procedures and processes to attain unit goals. Substantial involvement in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operation(s) but which may also have company-wide effect. Operates with a larger degree of autonomy than a manager role. Represents the unit at meetings or on committees.
Responsibilities:
- Set the budget for the cost centers and hold subordinates accountable to make sure they come in on budget. Provide labor and capital expenditure recommendations to senior management
- Work with peers to establish and set the expectations of how the multiple facilities promote a collaborative work environment and foster the process improvement process in the environment
- Develops the standards for job run standards amongst the peer group along with the estimating group. Establishes the work practices and expectations of the organization for the facility
- Working with other internal groups, sets the direction and levels of acceptable quality and establish performance standards to ensure the best possible customer experience and performance of our product
- Full knowledge of job-related policies and procedures as well as corporate policies and procedures that may impact role functioning. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship. Optimizes human, financial, and other resources to achieve designated goals
- Effectively manages the performance of the unit through subordinate managers
- Receives limited supervision exercising judgment within broadly defined policies and practices in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- Recommends items and amounts for inclusion in the budget. Controls expenses. Resolves conflicts between competing budget and expense priorities in subordinate units
- Sets the overall objectives and resource availability and provides limited supervision to subordinate managers
- Ensures the health and safety of all the people in the facility
- Sets the KPI's for the facility and cascades down to subordinate managers
- Error may cause substantial delays in important development work or may substantially impact the operations of other areas
- Acts as prime consultant on large projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements
- Works on complex and unusual or politically sensitive problems of significant scope that require development and selection of procedures and processes, including those that are novel and where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles
- Required to interpret and frame complex or specialized information for presentation to varied audiences. Requires ability to gain cooperation of others. Interacts with key internal and external stakeholders in order to resolve complex problems. Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 10 years experience including minimum 2 years as a team supervisor/manager
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Advance skills in delegation and follow-up
- Strong leadership, management skills
- Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma processes
- In-depth knowledge of WMS software to manage and automate daily operations, order picking, inventory tracking, and reporting.
- Understanding of warehouse automation systems and the potential for robotics to improve productivity.
- Identifying inefficiencies in workflows and implementing improvements to streamline operations.
- Ability to use data analytics to make informed decisions and produce reports on operational performance.
- In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards. Ability to ensure that the warehouse is a safe environment for employees.
- Familiarity with local, national, and international regulatory requirements for warehousing, such as environmental regulations, labor laws, and hazardous materials handling.
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through accurate order fulfillment, on-time delivery, and proactive issue resolution.
- Ability to identify underlying issues in warehouse operations, such as bottlenecks, errors, or inefficiencies, and implement solutions.
- Continuously exploring new tools, technologies, and best practices that can drive operational excellence.
- Capacity to identify skill gaps and provide training to ensure staff is well-equipped to perform their tasks efficiently.

Salary: USD 133000.00 - USD 199400.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement.
