Position Summary
The Engineer I, Manufacturing is responsible for supporting manufacturing process improvements through adherence to established design control processes, good engineering and documentation practices. The key responsibility of this position is to support and sustain production. The Engineer I will complete projects with guidance from the senior engineers and managers. They gain exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function and are occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of the Engineering leadership, work to improve performance of manufacturing systems, e.g. OEE improvement (quality, performance and uptime), maintenance needs, MUV and scrap reduction
- Assist in completion of CAPA tasks and deliverables (Corrective and Preventive)
- Learn and implement methodical approach for root cause analysis and propose robust technical solutions with the consensus of senior engineer
- Collaborate with the senior engineers to address daily production issues
- Create and edit documents to support Production
- Conducts analysis and develops solutions to problems with proper guidance
- Performs developmental and/or test work that relies heavily on a comprehensive knowledge of theory and design
- Receives general project direction. Solicits input from more experienced engineers.

- Manage simple projects with adherence to program-management guidelines
- Develop and apply innovative tool design skills
- Develop and apply process characterize skills and summarize technical details
- Learn and apply statistical tools
- Work with Quality Engineers on qualification activities for new or modified processes and equipment
- Delivers communications tailored to the needs of the receiver (managers, peers, customers) with appropriate frequency to maximize its utility and promote cross-functional collaboration.
Knowledge & Skills
- General understanding of part assembly, fixturing, testing, and process control techniques
- Experience in SolidWorks. Mechanical design understanding
- Technical writing competency
- Capable to develop competency in your domain
- Has a basic understanding of best practices. Has a basic understanding of engineering discipline
- Ability to receive general project direction and solicit input from more experienced engineers
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (Engineering or Technology)
- 0-2 years experience
Work Environment
- This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
- Work is performed in a clean room environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work with contaminated Medical Devices in a controlled laboratory setting
- Must be able to occasionally move objects up to 15 lbs.
