Job Summary
Responsible for day-to-day activities of Maintenance Department during three or more shifts of operation. Responsibilities include proper operation of all systems and equipment as well as administrative activities related to personnel reporting to incumbent. Must be able to manage the expense and overtime budgets.
Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES PERFORMED BY THE INCUMBENT
- Assure that all systems and equipment in the facility are in top operational condition.
- Review and modify the existing preventative maintenance program to fit the ever increasing need for continuous operation of systems/equipment.
- Assure proper troubleshooting of systems/equipment to minimize down-time and eliminate re-occurring of problems.
- Provide leadership for people reporting to him/her and inform management of the current, as well as future, needs of the facility.
- Responsible to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Must develop a maintenance budget and forecast spending requirements.
- Create and implement comprehensive training programs to assure cross-training of staff.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ensures department personnel are aware of the Environmental Management and Energy Management Systems and promotes continual improvement taking accountability for the effectiveness of the Environmental Management and Energy Management Systems according to ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards.
- Responsible for ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are met under ISO 14001 standards.
- Responsible for ensuring that Energy Management Requirements are met under ISO 50001 standards.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance to Occupational Health and Safety is met under ISO 45001.
REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. Degree in Engineering or related field, (experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
- Minimum of 5+ years Maintenance Supervisory/Manager experience.
- Must have a good understanding of utilities systems, pumps, piping, boilers and water treatment.
- Must have experience with high speed filling/packing equipment (liquid).
- Must have a good understanding of electrical installation, power distribution and wiring.
- Must have a good understanding of electronics, relays, controllers and programmable controllers.
- Must have a good understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Must have proven record of successful troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
- Must have a good understanding of cGMP.
