Job Summary
Performs maintenance and troubleshoot electrical systems of any equipment used in manufacturing processes under general supervision and guidance from a senior engineer or a manager. Is a technical resource to the Engineering, Maintenance and Automation departments to meet all regulatory and company specific policy requirements and to improve plant efficiency, capacity, and capability and modernization objectives. Responsible for the research, development, design, layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairs and improvement of all manufacturing equipment and plant utility systems. Responsible for implementing improvements to increase equipment efficiency and prevent equipment obsolescence. Responsible for insuring the validated state of all equipment, systems and facilities and compliance with all applicable cGMP, OSHA, DEC, EPA and local government regulations.
Responsibilities
Electrical Systems Design: Analyze, design, and develop electrical systems and components for manufacturing equipment and support systems, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
Installation and Commissioning: Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring they meet design specifications and function optimally.
Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and rectify electrical faults and failures, implementing corrective actions to maintain system performance.
Capital Projects: Responsible for developing and implementing improvements for efficiency, safety and preventing equipment obsolescence. Provide User Requirement Specification development support for electrical systems under general supervision and guidance.. Assists with capital improvement projects, including acquisition, installation, startup and documentation. Rebuilding and upgrading utility systems, formulation, filling and packaging equipment. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all electrical systems comply with relevant electrical and state codes, standards, and safety regulations. Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain safety standards. Responsible for insuring the validated state of all equipment, systems and facilities and compliance with all applicable cGMP, OSHA, DEC, EPA and local government regulations. Equipment Optimization: Continuously improve electrical control system to enhance machine and equipment performance, reduce downtime, and increase efficiency.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, automation, production teams, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems with overall manufacturing processes.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation, schematics, and diagrams for electrical systems and components. Ensure all documents are up-to-date and accessible.
Project Management: Plan and execute electrical installations, maintenance, shutdowns, and repair projects managing timelines and budgets to ensure successful project completion. Responsible for developing relationships with key vendors for technical support and for assistance in hardware applications. Professional Development: Stay current with advances in electrical engineering, emerging technologies, and industry trends. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
