Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Operations Manager to join our
Insourcing Solutions team, located
in Boston, MA.
As the
Operations Manager, you will oversee and manage all aspects of Charles River Accelerator & Development Labs (CRADL) facilities, including staff. Monitor and report on financial performance including site occupancy levels, facility expenses, capital planning, and budget. Partner with senior management to develop, implement, and achieve short- and long-term goals for the CRADL organization. Recommend innovative techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, and maintain quality standards. Assure site performance is consistent with company and CRADL standards, meets or exceeds financial expectations, aligned in operations with the CRADL organization and meets client contractual requirements.
Additional Responsibilities Include
- The Supervisor manages and ensures that daily husbandry and support assignments meet organizational standards and client expectations. This includes assigning weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage, conducting husbandry and services, and managing personnel activities such as mentorship, personnel actions, training and development, performance feedback, disciplinary actions, and annual performance and salary reviews.
- In the absence of the supervisor, the Supervisor provides support to technicians, coordinates personnel and facility scheduling, assists in general facility maintenance, and ensures appropriate biosecurity measures.
- The Supervisor oversees site capital and expense budgets. They assist management with site forecasting, budget planning, client services, and the financial impact of client plans. They manage lists of site and equipment needs/improvements for all CRADL sites to assist in budget management.
- The Supervisor oversees facility maintenance/repairs and preventative maintenance schedules. They manage site operations, actively monitor the quality of activities, and make day-to-day decisions regarding facility operations and client needs.
- The Supervisor oversees vivarium security in partnership with Charles River Corporate Security. They respond or direct after-hours emergencies/requests as necessary to ensure smooth facility operations and client satisfaction.
- The Supervisor ensures required training for clients is completed to operate in compliance with local regulations and CRL policies while tenants in CRL space.
- The Supervisor oversees consistent practice of site and personnel safety policies and procedures and manages hazardous work in partnership with EH&S Specialists.
Job Qualifications
The following are minimum requirements related to the
Operations Manager position.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in animal or laboratory science, business, or related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum eight (8) years in a laboratory animal facility of which five (5) years is management or supervisory experience.
- Certification/Licensure: AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technologist level (LATG) and/or Certified Manager of Animal Resources (CMAR) preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
The pay range for this position is
$112K-125K USD annually. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
