We are looking for a hands-on well rounded
Facility Engineer to join our
La Porte, TX team. This position is heavily Project Management based. You will assist GM with Capital Projects. Manage, and create projects, and budget costs. You will direct, coordinate, and control the activities of subcontractors as well as facility personnel assigned to various projects. Must be able to take a request and determine if it is within scope of the project and budget, then modify, change, or add equipment for a system. This position is 30-40% in plant and other 60-70% in office.

Responsibilities
- Assists plant GM with capital projects for the facility and help manage budget costs for such projects.
- Provides engineering support to plant maintenance department on and as needed.
- Coordinates the project activities at the plant level with all involved departments such as operation, management, maintenance, compliance and Health and Safety.
- Attends all plant management meetings and provides engineering assistance for maintenance and other projects to ensure proper and timely repairs, modifications and improvements to equipment and systems.
- Maintains complete documentation and updated facility drawings on file at the facility as needed.
Qualifications
What does it take to work at Clean Harbors?
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering disciplines.
- 1-2 years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Creating and managing budgets.
- Experience in a KPI and Metrics environment a plus.
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- General knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- MS Office Suite such as Word and Excel and exposure or experience with Microsoft projects.
- Experience with process instrumentation, piping, valves, pumps, material of construction, coating systems, fire detection and controls, material handling and building/structure maintenance, electrical systems/electrics.
- Must be able to pass an eye exam for color determination.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, push, pull, crouch, carry, reach, stoop, work at heights, speak, listen, taste and smell.
