Position Summary
Under direct supervision, this individual will perform a broad range of tasks involving molding production support. This includes equipment and process set-up, troubleshooting production problems. Additional responsibilities include the performance of simple maintenance. Preparing written manufacturing instruction documents.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Train with the Senior Process Technician
- Daily mold cleanings.
- Prepare and Stage Tools, auxiliary equipment, and components needed for the next job.
- Set tool acquiring all necessary components using STW and the MPLS to correctly install a tool (including documentation), set/enter programs for all ancillary equipment required to correctly run the tool and have ready for tech to check and start.
- Perform basic troubleshooting when answering machine alarms
- Verify process parameters prior to start up and assure process is running to validated parameters
- Perform startups and provide all related documentation appropriately filled out
- At startup, ensure injection molding machines, and supporting automated systems, are set to parameters contained within the MPLS’s, (PPOV)
- Trouble-shoot quality/part issues by confirming plastic conditions
- Participate on continuous improvement projects
- Under supervision, optimize part extraction (end-of-arm robot extraction tooling) and part containment
- Assure defects are addressed and resolved in a timely manner
- Work in conjunction with the Quality department to maintain/improve process control
- Follow all safety guidelines of the molding area including utilization of PPE and Assure GMP’s, safety standards and procedures are followed per company policies.
- Data entry and Line Clearance in iFactory Complete training and show understanding in scientific molding principles.
- Verify full last shot procedures are completed and job end of run.
- Perform packer duties as required
- Perform material handling duties
- Must perform tasks directed by manager
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic Tooling and Injection Molding Machine Knowledge
- Experience setting tools using the overhead crane.
- Operate, prepare, and set up an Injection Molding Machine for Start Up and Shut Down.
- Material Handling knowledge and experience.
- Ability to comply with work requirements
- Shows the ability to follow standardized work instructions
- Basic Knowledge in Blueprint reading.
- Basic knowledge of Scientific molding methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of takeout robots.
- Safety driven
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Good written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma required
- 2+ years Injection Molding with Setup or Manufacturing experience preferred OR
- 1 year injection Molding/ Manufacturing experience plus certification in lieu of experience.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a clean room environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time; depending on the machine they are operating
- Operator is required to use computer or touch screen to enter work order data
- Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects of up to 50 pounds
Travel Requirements
- Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
