JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Packaging Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive design and process improvements for existing products and processes with goals of improved efficiency and cost reduction. The Senior Packaging Engineer will create new corrugate designs in support of all new CCT products. The Senior Packaging Engineer will drive completion of product changes and new designs through creation of specifications, documentation, and management of changes through the engineering change order (ECO) process.
Responsibilities:
- Define packaging cost reduction opportunities and execute implementation when they make sense. This includes facilitating cross functional review of proposed changes, proper qualifications, and completion of documentation to implement cost reductions.
- Complete new designs for corrugate parts in support of all new CCT new products, including proper part drawings. Ensure that corrugate documentation allows for global sourcing using English and Metric Units.
- Define and maintain CCT corrugate documentation standards, drawings, and corrugate specifications.
- Act as CCT’s corrugate design subject matter expert
- Define and maintain CCT film documentation standards, drawings, and specifications.
- Work with suppliers in US and other parts of the world to ensure corrugate parts are properly documented and functional in all regions of need.
- Create and maintain existing shipping details for pallet configurations.
- Create and maintain documentation changes to support ECO requests.
- Management of CCT’s CAD table (Multicam or equivalent).
- Provide periodic status updates on all projects and participate in executive reviews.
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Packaging Engineering.
- 3-6 years of applicable engineering experience.
- Demonstrated corrugate design experience for packaging system components including documentation and transfer to manufacturing.
- Expertise using ArtiosCAD software including setup and management of configuration files.
- Expertise using TOPS (or equivalent) software
- Experience interacting directly with customers and suppliers.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data using statistics, and DOE design.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects and complete deliverables on time with minimal supervision.
- Capable of documenting design work in a clear and concise technical report format.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Expertise using sample cutting tables
- Proven ability to work in a smaller, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Desired:
Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification
Knowledge of modern packaging manufacturing processes including injection molding, bonding, thin films and prototyping.
Experience with Life Cycle Analyses (LCA)
