Job Details:
The purpose of this position is to work with healthcare providers and Patient Account Management team to ensure all patients complete their therapy journey quickly and efficiently. Customer service for the HCP Account as well as the patient is extremely important in the support of the patient during the therapy journey. This position is responsible for all aspects of the patient journey and will leverage available resources to ensure the quick and timely completion of Benefit Investigations, Prior Authorizations, Triage to Pharmacy and accessing appropriate assistance programs sponsored by the client. The Sr. Patient Access Specialist must adhere to program rules while providing high quality service that is both efficient and effective.
Job Responsibilities:
- Single point of contact for an assigned territory, providing proactive case management follow-through and facilitating all outreach communications
- Single point of contact for patient to facilitating clear communication of next steps, outstanding items, and what to expect
- Proactively manages territory in an organized manner and works to ensure patients in territory are efficiently and effectively triaged to appropriate pharmacy for medication dispense
- Effectively reviews and communicates applicable access and affordability related information, facilitating next steps
- Clearly communicates statuses of all patient support activities while also handling questions and inquiries from prescribers, patients, and field resources
- Collaborates with other program resources to progress patient journey and obtain outcomes for active patients
- Accepts inbound calls for assigned territory or roll over of other territories and provides one call resolution support and handles voicemail responses within defined timeline
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Requirements
- Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with account management
- Other skills preferred:
- 3 to 4 years of benefit investigation involving the analysis and interpretation of insurance coverage
- 3 to 4 years of experience interacting with healthcare providers regarding health insurance plan requirements
- Experience with rare disease patient support, either in MD office or with a specialty pharmacy, preferably with end to end support
- Pharmacy background/call center/health insurance or MD office experience
- Previous contact center work experience in a role that provides customer service
- Previous CRM (Salesforce) system experience
- Professional level skills in computer use, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, email, web-based applications, and keyboard skills
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills with providers, patients and insurance companies
- Interpersonal skills to facilitate work with a wide range of individuals and groups from culturally diverse publics
- Problem solving skills
- Second language - Spanish preferred
