Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Pharmacist will develop and provide clinical pharmacy services and tools to support the sale and implementation of infusion pumps.
Responsibilities: Essential Duties
- Assess and understand customer needs regarding medication safety and B. Braun product offerings to meet those needs.
- Develop and execute service programs that include the following activities:
- Support customer development of customized drug libraries for infusion pumps
- Review customer drug libraries independently and on calls or in live meeting(s) pre-implementation to support safe pump implementation
- Develop and maintain a Drug Library Database using information from B. Braun Customer Drug Libraries throughout the Nation
- Support analysis of infusion pump data for ongoing customer and B Braun quality initiatives
- Assist in removing roadblocks that risk delaying implementation timelines
- Identify and support customers as reference account testimonials and publications
- Maintain and enhance relationships with key pharmacy customers
- Train selling organization on clinical pharmacy issues and B. Braun pharmacy software.
- Provide input for product enhancement/development.
Expertise: Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of infusion therapy, medication dosing, delivery and safety, infusion systems (smart pump technology).
- Knowledge of B. Braun product lines and competitors.
- Knowledge of healthcare market, customers and industry.
- Ability to assess and understand customer needs regarding B. Braun products and pharmacy standards.
- Ability to interface effectively, build working relationships and develop ideas with management, external customers and executives.
- Strong communication skills - written and oral.
- Ability to develop and implement pharmacy strategies and utilize company networks to achieve goals.
- Ability to independently plan, prioritize, coordinate and execute projects.
- Research, data analysis, technical writing, publication, project management.
- Computer: Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
The targeted range for this role takes into account a range of factors that are considered when making compensation and hiring decisions; included but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Qualifications
Expertise: Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc
Required:
- Licensed Registered Pharmacist with strong infusion therapy, medication delivery and safety background.
- Minimum of 3 years acute care inpatient clinical experience.
- Eight or more years of professional experience in healthcare industry.
- Overnight business travel required.
Desired:
- PharmD or Master’s degree in Pharmacy.
- Pediatric Pharmacy experience
- 1-2 years experience with programming and managing smart pumps and drug libraries. Current experience with B.Braun smart pumps and drug libraries preferred.
- Current experience using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word preferred.
- Four or more years experience working with an Infusion Systems manufacturing company.
- Experience in research, technical writing, publication, clinical presentations, project management and training
- Established clinical customer/thought leader relationships.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
