The Director- Program Management is responsible for providing the full range of support and supervise the organizations program management group for the successful and necessary performance and completion of projects related to accounts under direction and control.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for implementation of customer programs and project management which includes managing staff to support business activities as declared below.
- When necessary, answers a multi-line telephone system for emergency and non-emergency calls for clients, screen and transfers calls in a high-volume phone environment.
- When necessary, complete phone screenings and assist clients in obtaining needed paperwork, SDS, from other providers and facilities.
- Responsible for managing staff that implement procedures to assure all phases of projects are timely and successfully executed. Those tasks include:
- Accurately log information from client interactions into Project Management platform ALERT systems; update in a timely and accurate manner so that clients can track services inquiries and resolution.
- Review analytical results to ensure compliance meeting specific state/province requirement and accomplish site closure.
- Submit initial written, electronic, and intake reports to regulatory agencies.
- Manage proper disposal of all waste.
- Audit all subcontractor work orders/invoices for accuracy.
- Input correct information into the ALERT system, including use of correct grammar and spelling, accurate selection of all appropriate categories, and addition of any notes or comments pertinent to the contact and/or contact record.
- Providing and maintaining excellent customer service and satisfaction.
- Assure all DOT, OSHA, safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and site-specific safety plans are following throughout cleanup activities.
- Assure that all client SOP’s and special instructions are performed and are compliant.
- Communicate effectively to contractors, clients, regulatory officials, etc.…, through both written and verbal communication.
- Return all internal and external calls, emails and facsimiles in a timely manner to ensure that client concerns are understood, addressed and resolved in an efficient and complete manner as possible.
- Maintains professional competency in all aspects of the job.
- Relays information to personnel in the field along with feedback on contractor.
- Provides weekly reporting relevant to communicating staff, vendor and customer performance and progress to completion of initiatives outlined in strategic plans or directives from direct supervisor.
- Provide monthly financial reporting relative to project performance which includes revenue, cost and collections activities.
- Pursue and accomplish initiatives related to driving improved organizational project profitability performance as it relates to execution of projects and programs of influence.
- Perform other job-related duties as required by direct supervisor.
Qualifications:

- 6-10 of years of applicable industry experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field: Environmental Science, Chemistry, Waste Management, Health, Safety, Emergency Management, (or similar major) or related field; or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Direct hazardous material response experience is required.
- HAZWOPER, RCRA, DOT, OSHA training certificates required.
- Must be eligible to work in the US.
- Experience with RCRA, OSHA and DOT Regulations.
- The candidate MUST possess strong time management skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, & ability to manage multiple projects.
- Must be a team player and work to accomplish common goals in the department.
- Data entry, excellent written and verbal communication.

Skills/Knowledge:
- Must be computer literate, well versed in standard office word and spreadsheet programs, as well as software used by the organization.

Work Hours:
- This position is expected, at a minimum, a 40-hour work week. Additional hours will be required from time to time, depending on the status of the business.
- As an XPO Project Manager is expected that an emphasis be placed on productive use of time. This means minimizing time away from the workstation for smoking breaks, visiting with co-workers on a personal basis, and/or personal use of the telephones and internet.
- This position is exempt from overtime.
