Ecolab is seeking to hire a
Quality Analyst to join their team in
Vancouver, WA. This position is focused on quality problem resolution at manufacturing plants with a focus on plant capabilities in mixing and packaging. Primary objective is continuous improvement in quality, process control, material efficiency, cycle time and startup of new product production.
What You Will Do
- Supports Ecolab's Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiative program and improvement process. Helps to develop and implement action plans to solve problems; works with other department and site employees to achieve and maintain ISO 9001 and RC 14000 certification. Leader of the PQ Pillar.
- Responsible for data analysis of adjustment/resample and FPF to aid in process improvement. Responsible for performing all quality assurance tests and procedures in a precise and accurate manner.
- Uses good laboratory practices to accurately record and file all raw test data, including pertinent paperwork – e.g. chromatograms, graphs, spectra, and test results. Communicates results and disposition to Manufacturing and Shipping. Calculates and recommends batch adjustments to Manufacturing.
- Promptly reports all problems regarding procedures, specifications, etc., to the Quality Manager. Works with quality team leader to Prepare lab standard test reagents (ex. GC STDs). Performs standardization on reagents and equipment on a regular basis. Keeps detailed records. Maintains control charts.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment as its related to RC-14000.
- Work with SH&E Manager to delegate waste for all lab materials including production lab materials.
- Works with quality team leader to care for and perform maintenance of instruments and other lab equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining yearly calibrations on instruments. Work with the quality team leader to ensure all other calibrations in the lab are being maintained.
- Responsible for testing of non- routine laboratory samples (outside samples and customer complaint sample testing).
- Responsible for working across departments to fill sample request. Works with Quality manager and Quality team leader to complete daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
- Completes special projects in a timely basis as assigned by Quality Manager.
- Works with Quality Manager to perform root cause analysis on batch issues.
- Work with Quality Manager to complete product setups and close out customer complaints.
- Works with Quality Manager to submit SCARS, CAPAs and waiver request.
- Primary lab troubleshooter for non-conforming batch lab work (ie. Lab blends).
- Consistently utilizes inter and intra departmental teamwork in daily work activities and in the solution of problems.
- Follows all departmental policies and decisions. Become an internal ISO auditor and perform 1-2 internal ISO audits a year.
- Supports lab and plant functions during external and internal audits including ISO 9001, NSF, Halal, Kosher and customer audits.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry
- A strong laboratory background in organic and/or analytical chemistry
- ISO 9001 knowledge

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Experience working in a chemical plant
- Experience in data analysis/trending
- Knowledge on how FTIR and GC instrumentation functions and ability analyze the data
- Continuous improvement experience
- Knowledge of Oxyalklyation Chemistry
- Demonstrated ability to lead others
Annual Or Hourly Compensation Range
Base salary range is $75,000 - $80,000
Annual or Hourly Compensation Range is based on full-time 40 hours per week. Ecolab in good faith anticipates it will pay within the posted range. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining the compensation for a potential new employee such as education, training, experience, work location, travel (if required), etc.
