The Pharmacy Technician will help execute the direct technical procedures of drug admixture and preparation, along with supply and equipment management.
Under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, working within a licensed pharmacy, you will perform the technical aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record keeping and inventory control.

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm
Pay: $26.00
Background/ Drug Requirements: Must be willing to submit to a background check, health and drug screen

Job Responsibilities
- Prepare pharmaceutical agents ordered, ensuring the correct dose for the correct patient, and provide those drugs to clinical staff for administration. Tasks are subjected to sequential or final verification by a registered nurse or a registered pharmacist.
- Utilizing aseptic techniques, prepare medication orders by compounding or admixing, under supervision of a registered pharmacist
- Ensure quality control for all oncology/chemotherapy medication utilized in the Oncology Department.
- Check all orders for completeness of information; verify patient information and proper physician authorization.
- Checks all orders for insurance approval before admixing. Under professional supervision, admix drugs within OSHA and interoffice guidelines.
- Calculate correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
- Maintain indigent patient drug program as assigned.
- Count controlled drugs weekly and maintain records.
- Note date, concentration and initials on vials held in storage.
- Verify expiration dates on drugs and supplies utilized in practice.
- Work with the nursing staff to maintain patient education supplies used in practice.
- Maintain current drug information and MSDS sheets.
- Properly dispose of all materials used when mixing non-chemo IVs.
- Clean hoods daily, or as stated in policy and procedures.
- Receive and stock medications. Assist lead pharmacy technician in ensuring that standard drug supplies are an adequate for all departments. Prepare labels. File and prepare billings.
- Review shipping invoices and compare with related billing documents for each location.
