Clean Harbors in
Topeka, KS is seeking a
General Laborer to join our safety conscious team. This person would be
responsible for the performance of tasks associated with handling and segregation of carbon black in a confined space entry site in accordance with our company policies and procedures at our client location in
Topeka, KS, Goodyear.
Monday through Friday. 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Responsibilities
- Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
- This Position doesn't need any Supervisory Authority;
- Make chemical pickups throughout customer facility as directed;
- Conduct chemical bulking/consolidation as required;
- Responsible for proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance;
- Ensure work area maintained in a neat and orderly manner:
- Participate in spill response on customer’s site as needed;
- Attend all compliance and safety update meetings;
- Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance;
- Operate forklift in a safe manner;
- Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles;
- Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary;
- Physically demanding position; Must be able to lift 50 pounds;
- Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required;
- Hazardous waste experience a plus;
- Valid Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record;
- Perform physical functions per job requirements;
- Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position;
- Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift experience/training
- Previous relevant labor experience
- 40 Hour OSHA
- DOT Training
- Grade 4 Industrial Wastewater License
