Director, Commercial Analytics
The Director of Commercial Analytics is responsible for the design and execution of a vision for analytical insights across all sales segments. This role focuses solely on sales-related functions and will work closely with the sales teams to answer important questions and provide data-driven insights for presale sales engagements. They will also lead all Sales’ aspects of client performance reporting/analysis and have a central role in corporate initiatives focused client/prospect data acquisition and management. The Director will have strong analytic capabilities, strategic thinking skills, and the ability to execute and deliver results. These analytical insights will be used to directly and indirectly drive bookings, track/monitor/improve customer performance, and spawn opportunities for automation, innovation, and scale into the broader commercial organization.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- In collaboration with other Sales leaders, development of a short-term “data activation” process and long-term sales vision incorporating analytical insights into presale engagements.
- Collaborating with other athenahealth analytics teams to standardize KPI definitions, governance, and application across client performance datasets. This includes influencing and engaging with a broader set of athenahealth teams across the life cycle of clients to ensure value achievement.
- Utilizing athenahealth's various data tools to craft customized value stories focused on current client performance for high-priority sales engagements.
- Leading all aspects of reporting and analysis for presale quantitative value propositions
- Collaborating with sales leadership to identify business needs for analytical insights across prospect and client base and developing data-driven solutions.
- Managing prospect data acquisition and ensuring data quality in the prospect database.
- Support analytics resource(s) that builds and generates prescriptive analytics to a variety of stakeholders to creating compelling value stories in presale engagements.
- Own, and present prospect/client facing material and collateral, in some cases onsite with the prospect/client.
- Create and establish new analytical techniques, metrics, and reporting tools that support the sales cycle and client journey as well as validate and vet existing data assets and their relevance.
- Work closely with project/program managers to tie together their macro efforts versus tactical day to day findings.
- Sales representation during GTM analytical strategy development for new products and services
Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of relevant work experience in sales and/or consulting.
- Strong analytic capabilities and ability to analyze data in a fluid environment.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills.
- Creative problem solver with the ability to challenge traditional approaches.
- Exceptional teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Highly motivated and able to think creatively and generate innovative ideas.
- Outgoing, confident, and articulate with excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
