Job Summary And Qualifications
The Digital Print Operator I is primarily responsible for labeling and shipping finished jobs to the requesting department, receiving orders from outside vendors and suppliers, pulling inventory items for shipment and assisting in the completion of print, bindery and finishing work for all printing requests as assigned. Maintains a consistent and efficient flow of projects in a timely manner. Utilizes Lawson, Tecsys, MS Office, Optifreight and other automation tools as appropriate.
- Responsible for performing quality control on all outgoing orders and assures that print requests are packed and labelled correctly and placed in the appropriate area for delivery to customers. Tracks missing orders and reports to customer as to status of missing orders.
- Record discrepancies/errors in completed print requests and notifies Print Production Lead of any issues/problems immediately.
- Receives supplies and paper orders (as well as externally produced jobs) and receives those PO’s into Lawson. Pulls stock items from inventory per print requests.
- Reviews and prioritizes completed print requests and ships completed print requests in a timely manner.
- Assists with the completion of print, bindery and finishing work for print requests as assigned, including large format print finishing, mounting and trimming posters or other displays. .
- Responsible for maintaining inventory of shipping department consumables. Ensures that consumable supplies (labels, ink, shipping cartons, packing tape, bubble wrap, etc.) are requested in a timely fashion and in appropriate quantities.
- Maintains a clean and tidy work area and Demonstrates pride, initiative and enthusiasm in your work.
Education & Experience:
- High School Graduate/Equivalent Required
- 1+ year(s) of experience in a production or print shop environment Required
- Customer Service experience preferred
