About the role The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting both existing products and the development and introduction of new processes aimed at improving efficiency, quality, and safety in the manufacturing environment. The role focuses on creating and refining foundational elements such as procedures, work instructions, and tooling to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will be a strong advocate for the manufacturing and assembly teams by ensuring that proper tools, clear and up-to-date work instructions, and safe and efficient setups are in place.
What you will be doing - Process Development & Improvement: Design and develop robust manufacturing procedures, tooling, and fixtures that meet capacity, safety, and quality requirements. Drive standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lean & Six Sigma Implementation: Utilize LEAN, Six Sigma, and other industry best practices to identify and implement improvements that enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence: Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities, focusing on optimizing line setup, reducing cycle times, and improving process flow. Help define and enforce manufacturing standards to maintain consistency.
- Current Equipment Utilization: Monitor and analyze the utilization and performance of existing equipment to ensure optimal efficiency. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions that maximize equipment output, reduce downtime, and enhance productivity.
- Sourcing & Equipment Strategy: Evaluate and execute sourcing strategies for new and existing production needs, considering both insourcing and outsourcing options. Lead the transfer of products or processes to/from external suppliers and internal production facilities, ensuring that decisions align with the company’s goals for cost efficiency, quality, and capacity.
- Documentation & Training: Generate and/or modify component and assembly drawings using SolidWorks, and ensure that all necessary documentation and work instructions are accurate, comprehensive, and accessible to production teams.
About you 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
2. LEAN, Six Sigma certified
3. 2-5 years experience in a manufacturing or design environment
4. Demonstrated ability to work in a Team Environment
5. Computer competency/expertise as related to CAD, Business Systems, etc.
