Senior NPI Buyer IV
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior NPI Buyer in the Milpitas, CA or Cranberry Township, PA area to lead the Procurement efforts for multiple New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with NPI program manager to procure goods and services for development programs. Drawing upon your strong leadership skills and extensive NPI expertise, you will coordinate activities across various disciplines and drive effective collaboration to achieve project objectives.
You Will:
- Manage and provide leadership for the procurement of multiple NPI programs.
- Placing and managing purchase orders for NPI programs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project timelines.
- Focal point for material expedition / disposition based on guidance from program manager.
- Able to think out of the box in expediting good and services.
- Communicates all procurement actions promptly and accurately to program team, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Partner with sourcing and key stakeholders on supplier selection, early supplier engagement, price negotiations, and establishment of Long-Term Agreements (LTAs).
- Manage lead time expectations to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
- Maintain integrated procurement schedules throughout the project development life cycle.
- Support change management processes and own procurement processes for ECR / ECO for NPI programs.
- Partner with sourcing on establishing the cost basis for NPI projects.
- Responsible for pipelining material for Pilot and launch quarter demand (including consigned and long lead-time material) per forecast.
- Responsible for procurement attributes and replenishment methods as part of BOM risk analysis and partnering with commodity managers to drive Pilot/Production quotes for NPI team to review.
- Oversees and approves task planning to include resource requirements and effort estimates related to procurement. Establishes and communicates overall priorities and changing procurement requirements, including impact to schedules to program team.
- Ensures all procurement deliverables are met for manufacturing readiness, including tooling, capital equipment, supplier selection, outside processing SOWs, and materials.
- Collaborates with stakeholders on corrective actions to address supplier issues and minimize disruptions to schedules.
- Provide regular written status updates to leadership on procurement activities.

Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in performing the essential functions of the job, typically acquired through ten or more years of relevant work experience. This includes a minimum of five years leading procurement activities for multiple New Product Introduction (NPI) projects/programs of varying complexity and scope. Prior experience collaborating with cross-functional teams is key
Core Competencies
- Minimum 3 years of experience using SAP and electronic Document Control Systems
- Expertise in supplier sourcing and selection, early supplier engagement, price negotiations, and establishing Long-Term Agreements (LTAs).
- Understanding of manufacturing readiness and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Proficient in working in a cross-functional environment, with the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues promptly, develop alternative solutions, and collaborate effectively in a team atmosphere.
- Proficiency in business applications software (MS Office) and specialized project management tools (MS Project).
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively communicate across all mediums, audiences, and situations.
- Strong ethical standards with a commitment to upholding the organization's goals and values, adapting to changing conditions, demonstrating persistence, and overcoming obstacles.
- Understanding of Requirements Management, including change configuration management, traceability, validation and verification, and scope management.
- Demonstrated creativity, resourcefulness, and a focus on continuous process improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA
- APICS or ISM Certificates
- Solid understanding of current commodity trends, markets, and price indexing, with in-depth knowledge of Domestic and International commodity suppliers
- Expertise in supplier sourcing and selection, early supplier engagement, price negotiations, and establishing Long-Term Agreements (LTAs).
Education
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Engineering, Sciences, Business, or a related field preferred. A minimum of 10 years of prior experience in NPI procurement, supplier sourcing, price negotiations, and lead time management.
Base Compensation: $85,546 to $122,209
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as location, education, experience, and skillset.
