Job Description
The IES Platform Development team is looking for an experienced Observability-focused Software Developer to join our team creating application and infrastructure performance and compliance visibility services for the Oracle Global Industry Units.

The IES Platform Development team’s Infrastructure-as-Code platforms empower our stakeholders to provision and maintain consistent environments across different regions and lifecycle stages. Our frameworks enable high-velocity configuration changes at cloud scale while ensuring a verifiable, repeatable, and dependable infrastructure fleet.
- We develop tools and systems that either directly support cloud infrastructure or empower operational teams to build and manage it. We are responsible for understanding business goals, identifying how software supports achieving them, and implementing best-of-breed solutions.
- We focus on core principles of software development including design patterns, maintainability, reliability, and scalability. Regardless of past experience or specialization, we are all software engineers first.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and deploy data collection and aggregation processes to deliver business intelligence metrics to organization leadership
- Leverage test driven development practices to deliver highly-scalable, distributed observability infrastructure using proprietary techniques and Open-Source software such as OpenSearch (Elasticsearch), Logstash, OpenDashboard (Kibana), Chef, and Ansible
- Develop automated configuration audit tools to provide visibility into infrastructure compliance (HIPAA, PCI-DSS), application performance, and standards-adherence
Skills You Have
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in a relevant field
- Experience developing within a continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipeline
- Extensive experience in workflow automation (cloud infrastructure and/or on-premise) using Infrastructure-as-Code
- Intermediate level skill in operating system configuration for Linux and Windows
- Track record of delivering assigned projects on time, using Agile and DevOps best practices
Technical Qualifications
- Advanced programming skills in at least one of Python, Ruby or Java
- Experience supporting / maintaining OpenSearch (Elasticsearch), Logstash, OpenDashboard (Kibana), Beats
- Experience configuring CI/CD for code testing and delivery with Jenkins or similar automation platform
- Experience with operations and support processes and tools such as: Incident Management, Change Management, Ticketing Systems (JIRA, Service Desk), Service Level Agreements, Escalation processes

- Good written and oral communication skills. Should be able to clearly convey your thoughts and ideas to others
- Committed self-starter who enjoys working in a collaborative environment with personnel at all levels in the organization
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
- Ability to create troubleshooting guidelines and workflow instructions that can be handed off for others to follow
- Ability to work independently, defining and managing one’s own work while still providing transparency and accountability to management and our stakeholders

- You have designed, developed, and maintained a multi-site, multi-terabyte OpenSearch (Elasticsearch), Logstash, OpenDashboard (Kibana) implementation in a large-scale SaaS environment
- You have written Infrastructure-as-Code for Cloud deployment automation
- You are proficient in Configuration-as-Code and Automated Configuration Management
- You are proficient in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure resource deployment and configuration
- You have an understanding of network protocols and network configuration.

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 - $223,500 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
