Responsibilities
D1 Shift - 6:45am - 7pm working a 2-2-3 Schedule with every other weekend off
PURPOSE: The grinder is responsible for the safe and proficient operation of the granulator machine and will be responsible for grinding scrap, maintaining the grinding room cleanliness and sanitation, making, weighing and moving gaylords; and reporting scrap regrind to the Production Manager.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Insure a quality regrind product is being produced by separating different polymers, labeling the correct gaylords with the correct labels, making sure all handles and gaskets have been removed and recording regrind totals for each shift.
- Monitor granulator for proper operation and report any problems to Maintenance, Shift Supervisor and QA Manager
- Maintain good housekeeping in Grinder Room and Scrap Area of the Warehouse
- Ability to operator manual pallet jack, sit-down forklift and become certified on the motorized pallet jack and forklift.
- Maintain accurate and legible paperwork
- Communicate effectively to team members and members of management
- Staff are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities;
- Staff are positively encouraged and required to notify management of actual or potential food safety issues; and
- Staff are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL, SKILL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED, or at least 1 years’ work experience in a relevant role preferred
- Understanding of the Quality Assurance role in a manufacturing environment
- Must be detail-oriented, have good communication skills, be safety minded and dependable
- Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions during a 12-hour shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack safely
- Basic writing, reading and math skills
