Position: Laboratory Technician III
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Shift Times: 11AM -7:30PM M-F
How You Will Add Value
The Laboratory Technician III is responsible for registering, processing, retrieving, and discarding irreplaceable biological and production samples as assigned. Furthermore, the Laboratory Technician III is responsible for completing sample preparation service activities including but not limited to normalized and volumetric aliquots, DNA/ RNA purification and quantification, PBMC isolation, automated and manual blood processing, and other client specific procedures.
What You Will Do
1) Perform all functions methodically and in accordance with SOPs.
2) Sample Registration, this includes the handling of samples at all temperatures, labeling, creating, and storing biological materials while maintaining the integrity of the samples.
3) Properly handle and store radioactive, manufactured and drug products.
4) Retrieve and package outbound shipments and discards.
5) Accurately and precisely aliquot samples of various metrices.
6) Independently operate laboratory equipment including but not limited to pipettes, automated liquid handlers, spectrophotometers, and centrifuges.
7) Assist with the calibration and maintenance of equipment.
8) Process and store biological samples per established protocols.
9) Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
10) Proper and accurate document processes.
11) Perform basic retrieval problem solving under direction.
12) Generate location management and custom sample reports in LIMS.
13) Utilize query resolutions portal to facilitate the resolution of client inquiries. 14) Work with other team members to help on assigned projects.
15) Maintain training file and required documentation.
16) Competently register hand-built samples, import manifests previously broken down, and QC content including formatting.
17) Working with process control and data handling systems.
18) Perform whole blood fractionation, PBMC Isolation, and aliquoting
19) Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related area of study. Master of Science in Biology, Chemistry or related area of study preferred.
Working knowledge of GxP requirements.
Initial professional experience in a GLP environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with whole blood fractionation, PBMC isolation, and aliquoting preferred.
At least 2 years of lab experience preferred.
LIMS experience preferred.
Able to perform well in teams and also work independently.
