In this role, you will provide strategic leadership for an assigned business unit by articulating Vizient’s growth strategy with an emphasis on adjacent and transformation opportunities, strategic partnerships, and inorganic growth.
Role Responsibilities
- Leads the development, execution and governance of divisional strategy that delivers sustainable top-line growth and bottom-line performance for the company.
- Creates and leverages analytical frameworks to inform key questions regarding the assigned business unit strategy; facilitates trade-off decisions with the leadership team to drive focus.
- Supports the business unit leadership in defining the M&A roadmap for the division, identifying potential acquisition targets, and assessing strategic fit; collaborates with the leadership team and corporate development to evaluate and execute M&A opportunities.
- Demonstrates a detailed understanding of the health care industry with the ability to communicate complicated concepts to a variety of internal stakeholders.
- Identifies and tracks key market trends and competitor activity that would warrant an adjustment or recalibration of the business unit strategy.
- Fully comprehends the Vizient business model including target customers and needs, product and service offerings, revenue models and go-to-market strategies.
- Provides exceptional project management for key strategic initiatives within the division.
- In partnership with divisional Chief of Staff, facilitates performance tracking of key strategic initiatives and associated OKRs, including preparing reports for various governing bodies.
- Coordinates with other shared service/hybrid resources, namely finance, marketing and the People Team, to appropriately align resources to top strategic priorities and to simplify and streamline support for assigned business unit.
- Serves as a critical integrator across business and functional units, driving cross-team collaboration for the benefit of Vizient customers.
Qualifications/Requirements
- 10+ years of consulting experience focused on the healthcare provider market, and/or senior-level product strategy roles in the healthcare sector, including but not limited to early-stage SaaS companies.
- Ideal candidate has experience working in or with businesses with multiple revenue streams and analyzing trade-offs/opportunities across business lines.
- Proven analytical and critical thinking skills required to effectively quantify financial and operational benefits for key strategic initiatives, identify risks to achieving projected outcomes, and develop and implement solutions to address gaps or risks.
- Strong business development experience.
- Demonstrable project management experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills at the senior executive and board levels, including business writing skills.
- Solid technical and analytical computer skills, including excellent Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel software skills.
- Proven track record of leading effectively through influence and building collaborative working relationships with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders.
- Candidates must be willing to “roll up their sleeves” and be motivated, proactive, disciplined, flexible, and able to work with effective autonomy.
- An MBA (or comparable degree) and Management Consulting experience is strongly preferred.
Estimated Hiring Range
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $187,800.00 to $328,600.00.
