We're looking for a Product Manager who’s excited to make an impact in healthcare. A Day in the Life:
- Implement and handle new and/or existing products in a portfolio through launch excellence, participating as the business lead on product development teams, and providing data related to competitors, the market, product positioning, revenue and unit forecasting, and pricing strategies.
- Produce and drive credible regional market-based forecasts. Size market opportunities and profit targets for assigned product portfolio.
- Work with global teams to identify and coordinate upstream activities that impact the North American market.
- Develop and sustain impactful product roadmaps that align with both the overall portfolio and strategic company objectives.
- Build and implement short- and long-term strategic plans that ensure significant market differentiation and competitive advantage.
- Lead efforts in setting product pricing strategies and forecasting financial outcomes to guide business decisions.
- Establish and supervise critical metrics, providing regular reports to product and business management to measure success and advise strategy.
- Partner with internal scientific and technical experts to ensure that product plans are grounded in proven science and aligned with the technical architecture across product lines.
- Work with teams with multifaceted strengths to build a comprehensive product knowledge base, equipping internal teams to effectively serve customers.
- Secure alignment on the product development roadmap, including goals for market expansion and software development.
- Collaborate with Scientific Affairs to optimize the allocation of investments and resources, ensuring strategic alignment and efficiency.
Keys to Success:
- Analyze market trends and characterize the competitive landscape continuously to ensure appropriate product positioning.
- Engage with customers, identify difficulties and opportunities and define service/product requirements for increasing customer and business value through new services or service differentiation by representing the voice of the customer.
- Evaluate and communicate competitive threats, strengths and weaknesses, and fine-tune service offerings and forecasts accordingly.
- Work with business leaders and collaborators to define pricing strategy, service positioning and differentiation.
- Work with customer marketing and the downstream team to develop content and strategies for outbound communication and sales collateral.
- Partner with global demand planning to optimize inventory, reduce backorder, and minimize scrap risks.
- Adopt practical process improvement (PPI) methodology to enhance the customer experience.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in product care, lifecycle management, upstream product marketing, forecasting, strongly preferred.
- Technical laboratory experience, or education in a relevant scientific field (e.g. biochemistry, molecular biology, etc.) strongly preferred.
- Deep healthcare, diagnostic and/or clinical trial industry knowledge strongly preferred.
- Has an executive presence, strong business insight, and ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Proven track record in leading upstream marketing activities.
- Deep understanding of healthcare landscape, market trends, and challenges.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% including occasional weekends and international travel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data-driven insights to advise marketing strategies and optimize execution.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that lend to effective cross-functional collaboration across teams.
- Strong project management experience with the ability to prioritize and run multiple initiatives simultaneously, while ensuring deadlines and goals are met.
