We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented
Senior Software Test Automation Engineer dedicated to building high-quality software applications. This role involves planning, developing, and executing automated tests on new and existing products to ensure they meet functional, technical, and regulatory requirements. You will work as part of an Agile team alongside Product Development staff to resolve issues promptly and will track, report, and communicate test status effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of software test methodologies and procedures to ensure efficient testing and a high level of product quality.
You will report to the Associate Director, Technology Implementation Consulting and work a hybrid schedule (Two days in office and three days from your remote home office).
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using test automation frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Review and provide feedback on requirements, design documents, specifications, project plans, and initiatives from a quality engineering and testing perspective.
- Develop, review, and execute test plans and test scripts for new and existing software products.
- Collaborate with other teams to develop end-to-end test plans ensuring comprehensive system testing coverage.
- Support continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automation testing strategies.
- Submit, track, and escalate product issues found during testing to ensure timely resolution.
- Reproduce issues to assist software development in resolving them.
- Communicate and resolve all reported issues effectively before product release.
- Stay informed about code changes that may impact test coverage and execution.
- Continuously improve the automation framework and test suite by identifying and implementing new tools and techniques.
- Participate in software release cycles and coordinate with other team members to ensure successful releases.
- Develop status reports based on test completion and findings.
- Contribute information based on test results to design, development, and documentation teams, and other relevant technical groups.
- Participate in the Escaped Defect Analysis process and maintain all quality data.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant software testing and test automation experience.
- 1+ years' coding experience highly desired.
- Experience with QA processes, open-source test frameworks, test design strategies, writing test cases, and automating tests.
- Excellent knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools.
- Experience working in a global environment with an appreciation of cultural, regulatory, and operational differences across geographies.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities, identify and focus on high-value work, and meet expectations with high-quality deliverables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, and Pytest.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience with test automation frameworks like Cucumber.
- Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, and GitHub.
- Demonstrates initiative and drive; self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented; creative and analytical.
- Ability to mentor and train junior QA engineers.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced global work environment.
