Job Summary
The Manager, Contract Operations is responsible for assisting with contract setup, pre and post-deal analysis, and the timely processing of daily rebate operations to meet department goals and deadlines, ensuring appropriate analytical support is provided for rebate, administrative fees, and compliance program payments to Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), Health Plans (Payers), key national GPO customers, distributors and assigned National Accounts within the Model N system. This role will serve as the first point of contact to support Finance, BioPharma Sales, BioPharma National Accounts & Biosimilar Contract Operations groups and assigned Managed Care customers daily operations issues and/ or concerns. The Manager, Contract Operations will also provide rebates processing and deduction resolution support, if and when, needed. The Manager, Contract Operations is responsible for maintaining and developing strong collaborative relationships with both external and internal partners. The Manager, Contract Operations will also assist the Director, Contract Operations and Manager(s), Contract Negotiations with meeting department goals and objectives. The Manager, Contract Operations is responsible for ensuring all SOPs are current and assist in the training of the team members to assure team is adhering to department policies and procedures.
This is a hybrid position, and the selected candidate will be required to work onsite in the Lake Zurich, Illinois office 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Model N design and new customer/contract initiation.
- Onboard new customers: Customer account setup & ACH setup.
- Contract setup forms as a result of newly executed agreements/amendments.
- Reviews and approves new and amended pricing and rebate program forms to be loaded into Model N.
- Provides support for contracts including updating and maintaining the contract files.
- Works with both internal and external auditors to provide contract documentation and information as requested and required.
- Design and develop customer sell sheet requests for new provider and/or GPO agreements/amendments.
- IDN agreement membership preparation (COT, DEA, HIN information, etc.)
- Reconciliation of rebate payments to ensure accurate payment to payer, provider, wholesaler, and/or GPO.
- Pre-deal contract offer GTN analysis (go/no go).
- Post-deal contract performance analysis.
- Monitor quarterly/semesterly contract performance requirements.
- Meet monthly/quarterly with key account managers to assess performance.
- Conducts trend analysis on payment packages paid over prior contract periods and sales history.
- Collaborates with contract admin on analytics and reconciliations for any deductions related to assigned accounts, resulting in credit or recovery of payback.
- Liaison for customer ad hoc contract setup/ordering issues.
- Strive to minimize issues by demonstrating a strong attention to detail and accurate performance of responsibilities.
- Collaborate with various internal Fresenius Kabi customers, including customer service, contract administration, Biopharma marketing, national accounts, regional business directors and key account managers.
- Work collaboratively with team in identifying new process and system improvement opportunities and identify, resolve, or escalate repetitive or complex discrepancies.
- Files all contract documents according to department and company SOPs. Prepares contract files for Records Retention.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree required, preferably in Business or Finance.
- 5+ years related work experience in customer contracting analysis required. Pharmaceutical, life sciences, medical device, or biotech industry highly desired.
- Knowledge of GPOs, PBMs, Payers, IDNs, and Wholesaler experience highly preferred.
- Ability to interface effectively with all groups and teams and within all levels of the organization.
- Ability to read and understand detailed contract language.
- Experience and understanding of commercial contracts in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Business Intelligence platforms, analytics, and organization.
- Knowledge and comfort level of operating systems, for instance, SAP, Model N, Contract Life Cycle Management Systems, Qlik preferred.
