Job Summary
Responsible to coordinate all inbound and outbound freight and parcel shipments. Arrange and schedule carriers for all shipping orders. Prepare the plant shipping schedule per customer order requirements and provide all necessary shipping paperwork. Perform receiving of all inbound materials and supplies. Maintain a high level of transaction and documentation accuracy. Perform cycle counting of all inventories and proper inventory maintenance. Assist in daily shipping and receiving functions.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure daily SAP transactions are complete and accurate. Investigate and resolve inventory and transactional errors.
- Monitor silo levels and schedule silo material deliveries.
- Prepare shipping schedule using releases from customer service and delivery-due lists from the SAP System.
- Prepare all necessary shipping documents and labels, collect certifications from QA, and coordinate any special shipping requirements (tailgates, air bags, pictures, scan or fax documents, etc.).
- Check shipments and deliveries for accuracy.
- Keep records and coordinate shipments of inventories held at a 3rd party warehouse.
- Work closely with ASR, Planning, QA, and Manufacturing on shipping and inventory issues.
- Basic filing and record keeping of all Material Control documentation.
- Responsible for UPS and Federal Express shipments and MP2 receiving of items and supplies.
- Perform cycle counts and research errors for root cause and correction.
- Assist in daily receiving and shipping activities as needed.
- Perform all tasks needed to assist Finance with month-end and year-end close.
- Perform receiving of inbound raw materials in SAP, issue labels, and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor and order pallets.
- Schedule shipments w/ carriers or freight forwarders per customer requirements.
- Arrange carriers for inbound shipments as needed.
- Review and code freight invoices for accuracy.
- Provide freight estimates upon request.
- Initiate freight claims and coordinate resolution of carrier equipment issues.
- Actively participate and comply with all West HSE programs and regulations.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment in accordance with West 5S program.

Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience: 1-2 Years in the traffic or shipping/receiving areas with emphasis on material control, traffic, freight routing, rating and auditing of freight bills, etc.
- Must complete all certifications and training as required for this position, including forklift training.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Must be familiar with computers and various software programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, Master Control, and SAP.
- Basic understanding of:
- standard inventory management practices
- standard shipping and export documentation
- warehouse operation and management
- Able to be aware of all relevant standard operating procedures as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
- Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
- Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
- Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.
Travel Requirements
- Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time
Physical And Mental Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see and use hands and finger to operate office equipment (ie phones, computers, copies, etc.).
- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods may occur as well as getting to and from offices and building sites.
- The ability to be able to lift and carry various items up to 30 pounds.
- The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet. The noise level in the manufacturing work environment is moderate to loud. Hearing protection is required at all times in the manufacturing work environment.
- Job requires mental skill or ability such as communication, decision making (sometimes quick), interpreting data, reading or writing, organization, problem solving, understand direction, and speak publicly, etc.
