Responsibilities
- Create solid models of components using CAD software and oversee all design elements required to produce a quality model and layout.
- Design and layout complex mechanical assemblies using CAD software.
- Determine the component and sub-assembly drawings required to define the design.
- Knowledge of all in-house design/drafting standards including geometric tolerancing.
- Produce all required drawings in accordance with all applicable standards.
- Review and interpret customer specifications or requirements and the applicable military specifications or standards.
- Analyze design problems and direct the writing of Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
- Participate and contribute in design meetings with engineers and customers.
- Check drawing packages and ECO incorporations.
- Assist in assigning inventory control numbers (ICN's).
- Assist in training / cross-training of others.
- Maintain proficient computer skills.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Process.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to retain confidential information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of five total years’ experience in the design of related electromechanical components or equivalent
