The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for sustaining and continuously improving our manufacturing processes and products. Manufacturing Engineers are also responsible for implementation of new products into manufacturing. This is accomplished through continuous collaboration with internal teams in manufacturing, R&D, sourcing, planning, and quality.
Your collaboration
- Safety: Assure all safety requirements are met for the entire manufacturing facility, including minimization and management of all hazardous materials. Responsible for specifying PPE requirements for all processes as well as continuously improving ergonomics for all operations. Will serve as primary engineering representative for the safety committee.
- Manufacturing Process Development and Improvement: Lead the development of manufacturing processes that are safe, efficient, well documented, and easy to maintain. This includes the generation and maintenance of graphical based work instructions/methods sheets. Labor estimates, Router enhancements and tool development are inclusive in the manufacturing processes.
- Product design manufacturability improvement: Review and comment on drawings, calculations, specifications and other Design Engineering outputs. Provide input for DFX (Design for quality, cost, manufacturing, etc.).
- Engineering Change Management: Create and champion Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) that improve our products and processes.
- Complaint Investigation and Analysis: Work closely with the Quality Manager to investigate field complaints and when appropriate initiate corrective actions and close via the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) process.
- Training: Training of manufacturing personnel on any new or changed processes.

Your competence
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in either Electrical, Mechanical, Software or Industrial Engineering
- 5 years experience as an engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience in assisting in the launching of a new product
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing and correcting product issues based on field data
Desirable, but not Essential:
- Certifications or documented training in:
- Lean Manufacturing/Toyota Methods Improvement Teams
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) – Minitab experience
- 2D or 3D CAD (Autodesk preferred)
- PLM Systems (Windchill preferred)
- Work Instructions (Dozuki Preferred)
- Black Belt in Lean Manufacturing
- GD&T Training/Certification
Compensation: Salary range for this position is $68,000 to 90,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skillset. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical / dental / vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, disability, 401k matching (up to 8%).
