Job Summary
This position is a pivotal role within the commercial unit and is responsible for moving initiatives forward as well as helping to establish a long-range plan to enter and grow our biosimilar business. This would include maximizing revenue and gross profit for existing and new products, providing analysis on strategic plans & market/business unit plans, and supporting the long-range planning process within the biosimilar portfolio.
This position oversees the Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Contracting, Business Development, Market Research and Intelligence, Business Planning and Analysis within the Commercial Biosimilars Market Unit.
Responsibilities
- Develops sales, marketing and strategic business plans for Fresenius Kabi USA, LLC biosimilar products.
- Develops marketing and sales strategies to deliver profitability and timely product adoption.
- Align with the Biosimilar Business Unit to identify risks/opportunities for development, business planning, competitive activity, and commercialization.
- Formulates and implements business plans to support product market strategies and develops tactical action plans. Evaluates market and industry trends and executes programs from proposal stage to customer support.
- Develops/hires staff to deliver the business plan according to established timelines.
- Achieves the strategic volume and profit goals of the corporation by working closely with other supporting departments and functions.
- Informs organization of market trends, changes in awards, competitive activity and partnering, developing appropriate forecasts and strategies. Assists in the budget process.
- Supports Sales efforts with accurate contract information, marketing, and support, allowing them to drive conversions and/or win back lost business. Gives direction to Sales through pricing, trade class, Distributor, payor, GPO and related channel strategies.
- Work closely with customer’s senior management to align goals of respective organizations.
- Aligns Fresenius Kabi resources (volume needs, constraints, and capacities of our manufacturing capabilities) with market share penetration; keeping Fresenius Kabi commitments and capacity in alignment.
- Works closely with the Legal Department regarding pricing, terms and conditions, rebates, free goods, safe harbour, policy and procedure, Medicaid and government contracting.
Job Requirements:
- BA or BS required (MBA degree strongly preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably 5+ years in the generic drug and/or biologic industry.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to interact and collaborate with all levels of the organization required.
