Summarized Purpose:
Supports the Government and Public Health Services (GPHS) Strategic Proposal Development (SPD) team in the preparation and development of complicated, compelling proposals geared toward government solutions that are aligned with targeted agency and operational strategy. Assists with proposal architecture, styles and formatting optimization, and text and graphics development that describe and depict valuable differentiators, while working in several proposal management and graphic development tools.
Essential Functions and Other Job Information:
- Develops, maintains, and troubleshoots Microsoft Word and Upland Qvidian proposal templates, including styles and formatting, tables of contents, and overall proposal architecture.
- Assists in the development of compelling, client-ready text, data, and graphics that effectively address client's requests and best position the company as the top choice for award
- Review proposal content for accuracy, completeness, and visual appeal
- Work with team members to ensure final proposal output is client-ready (which may include editing and proofreading)
- Assists in identifying need for and/or leading strategic library content
- Liaises with subject matter authorities to establish context, gather feedback, and refine content
- May lead cover letters, small response documents and certain section of proposals as needed

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years).
- In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (expert or near expert level in MS Word styles, formatting, and template development)
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

- Knowledge of MS Word proposal development is required; Knowledge of Upland Qvidian a plus

Working Conditions and Environment:
- Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day.
- Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Frequent mobility required.
- Occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting of upper body and neck.
- Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
- Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Frequently interacts with others to acquire or relate information to diverse groups.
- Works independently with little mentorship or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Requires multiple periods of concentration.
