Vice President, Project Management Office: About This Role
Our Vice President, Project Management Office (VP, PMO), plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality and safety standards of our pharmaceutical products. The VP, PMO will establish the project management office and implement standardized procedures to ensure successful end-to-end project execution. The role provides leadership, strategic direction, and management of processes across both technical and non-technical domains. It ensures alignment between project objectives and business requirements, maintaining consistent project management practices throughout the organization. The VP, PMO will be responsible for tracking project status, financial implications, and overall performance, providing regular updates. Additionally, the VP will hire and develop a team of business analysts and project managers as needed. The role is remote and will require up to 25% travel to various QuVa Pharma locations as needed.
What the Vice President, Project Management Office Does Each Day:
- Establishes and supports ongoing development of PMO to support successful execution of programs and projects
- Designs and develops PMO guidelines, processes, & procedures on project management to align with QuVa goals
- Creates and leads a team of high performing project managers and business analysts who partner with stakeholders from initial conception and strategic planning through execution and continuous improvement
- Defines PMO best practices to create appropriate milestones and track overall project performance
- Standardizes project management tools, templates, and methodology leveraging industry standards for consistent repeatable quality delivery
- Develops effective project and program metrics, KPIs, and reporting including but not limited to resource capacity, utilization, project status, project health, variance, and risk
- Owns change management planning and execution as required
- Builds strong relationships with all stakeholders, fostering cooperation, coordination, and communication across the organization
- Collaborates with other departments across all sites to execute on timelines to meet strategic goals
- Develops and maintains effective escalation and risk management processes
- Provides stewardship and leadership for the enterprise portfolio of programs, driving higher return, ensuring architectural fit

- Strong business and financial acumen with focus on problem-solving, data analysis, critical thinking, business analysis, and organizational skills
- Strong documentation skills for project deliverables while using established tools, including Master Control, INFOR, Excel, etc.
Minimum Requirements for this Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Project Management Certification (PMP)
- 10 years’ experience in project and program management
- Demonstrated experience leading a Project Management Office for a mid-sized organization with experience establishing the department within the organization
- Able to successfully complete a drug and background check
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; QuVa is not able to sponsor applicants for work visas
Any of the Following Will Give You an Edge:
- MS or MBA degree in relevant field
- Experience with current best practice project management tools, methodology, and software
- Knowledge of current good manufacturing processes (cGMP)
