The Director of Strategy is a senior leadership position responsible for developing, implementing, and leading all aspects of the strategic initiatives and long-term goals of Pharma Services Group (PSG). This is a global role reporting to the VP of Strategy of PSG that requires a high level of critical thinking, discernment, and the capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the organization's strategic plan in alignment with the Thermo Fisher's vision, mission, and objectives. Conduct thorough analysis of market trends, competition, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and formulate strategies.
Business Development: Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, partnerships, and acquisitions that align with the company's strategic objectives. Collaborate with executive leadership to assess the feasibility and potential impact of these opportunities.
Performance Analysis: Supervise and evaluate the performance of the company against strategic goals and objectives. Analyze key performance indicators, market trends, and industry benchmarks to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business leaders across groups, divisions, functions to ensure alignment and integration of strategic plans. Cultivate a collaborative environment that improves Thermo Fishers end-to-end offering for a differentiated customer value proposition.
Change Management: Lead and facilitate organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption of strategic plans. Provide guidance and support to teams throughout the change process, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact the successful execution of strategic initiatives. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.
Leadership and Team Development: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the strategy team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and professional growth. Develop and further talent within the team, promoting a high-performance culture.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- 10+ experience in strategic planning, business development, or a related leadership role within a life sciences organzation or top tier consulting firm.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sophisticated data and market trends
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the skill to influence and engage customers at all levels
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Proficiency in using strategic planning tools and software
