Job Summary And Qualifications
The AVP - Supply Chain Financial Operations (Procure-to-Pay) provides overall operational direction and oversight for the Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Internal Control (vendor and item data management), and Customer Service functions. This position ensures effective and efficient service to the operating groups and other customers, that employees are fully supported, and that the group improves its performance. This individual manages and interprets financial and operational data to measure performance and identify organization‐wide improvement opportunities. This position also is responsible for ensuring all payments are processed according to the company’s protocols. This individual is responsible for setting the tone as a service organization by continuously seeking to understand and exceed customer needs.
What you will do in this role includes:
- Responsible for the following transaction processing functions: Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Internal Control (vendor and item data management), and Customer Service
- Develops strategic direction of transaction processing operational improvements and sharing of best practices
- Identifies and drives execution of continuous improvement opportunities through technology deployment and operational initiatives
- Directs implementation and consistent application of new procure-to-pay operating processes, standards, controls, and consolidation efforts across the division
- Ensures the following materials management and accounts payable systems are being optimized to ensure a high level of productivity is being achieved while maintaining accuracy in the results: SMART, HOST, Lawson AP Workflow, Hyland Brainware, and Hyland OnBase systems
- Coordinates with division supply chain operational leadership to ensure warehouse and facility-based supply chain processes promote transaction processing efficiencies
- Works closely and continuously communicates with consolidated hospital financial leadership to ensure optimal processing of purchasing and accounts payable functions
- Interfaces with GPO data management regarding all master file related issues; implements change as needed
- Collaborate with HCA Corporate Treasury and Financial Reporting leadership to develop and implement cash disbursement policies. Drives vendor communication and adoption of strategic initiatives to reduce the issuance of paper checks
- Monitors department performance measures and ensures performance meets or exceeds standards
- Identifies, interprets, and reports trends in performance measurement data and recommends analytical or operational changes to maximize financial and operational effectiveness and efficiency of the transaction processing team
- Manages and executes new supply chain initiatives as assigned
- Selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates personnel to ensure quality of service and technical expertise
- Responsible for all operational and compliance audit coordination
- Represents HCA in industry group settings and seek knowledge of supply chain strategies from the industry
- Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”
- Other duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree Required
- At least 10 years’ experience in financial operations or business office environment Required
- Experience in Healthcare or related supply industries preferred
- Extensive knowledge of purchasing, accounts payable, and master data management processes.
- Understands and articulates the financial impact of all purchasing and accounts payable transactions.

- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required
- Team leadership - guides individuals and groups toward desired outcomes, setting high performance standards, and delivering leading quality services
- Tactical execution ‐ oversees the development, deployment, and direction of complex programs and processes
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with data mining and business intelligence software to analyze financial and operational data
- Project managements/organizational skills required
- Understanding of the IT environment
