Overview
Maxor National Pharmacy Services is seeking a highly competent, compassionate nationally certified pharmacy technician for our Meds-To-Beds program in the outpatient pharmacy, located within John Peter Smith, JPS Health Systems, Fort Worth, TX.
Certified Pharmacy Technician-Meds to Beds
Under general supervision, fill orders as prescribed by providers. Performs various related pharmacy duties including quality management activities. Work schedule: Varies by pharmacy. May be required to work rotating shifts including holidays, weekends, nights and on-call.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):
Assist pharmacists in providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacy services.
Enter patient data accurately.
Track prescription orders via pharmacy tracking program to ensure correct delivery information.
Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.
Performs cashier functions.
Collect pharmacy copays according to determined financial classification and 3rd party eligibility.
Prepare and deliver medications timely to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist as part of our Meds to Beds service.
Provide friendly and cooperative customer service.
Pull and count medication from shelves accurately according to label generated at time of dispensing for final check by Pharmacist.
Identifies and resolves insurance billing adjudication; including facilitating prior authorizations (PAs) and assisting in locating financial assistance for patients as needed.
Assist the dispense technicians as needed regarding required refill requests that are discovered at time of dispensing.
Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
Assist in inventory control such as inventorying and stocking.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be certified and registered (as required by the state of employment) at time of employment or within one year of employment.
Experience: A minimum of one year of equivalent experience requiring a familiarity of generic and trade names of pharmaceutical products.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
General knowledge of generally accepted pharmacy principles, practices and procedures, pharmaceutical generic and trade names, general mathematics, personal computers.
Knowledge of third party insurances, coverage and relationship to operations and other JPS facilities.
Ability to operate various types of pharmacy equipment.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time while performing pharmacy service support duties.
Ability to lift; store and carry supplies and equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care.
Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
Ability to follow established safety, infection control, environmental and isolation practices and procedures at all times.
Interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with patients and staff.
Working knowledge of computer software including but not limited to software applications, data entry, EMR documentation, and email.
Customer service experience.
Comfortable with public speaking.
Flexibility to address any pharmacy need that may arise, especially those that are unexpected or sudden.
