Description:
The Director, Federal Government Business is an integral part of the Government Business and Health Policy Team. They will have account management responsibility for commercially marketed products with assigned Federal Accounts/Agencies within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS). This role will maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all organizational levels, and across all facets of the identified account's business to identify product opportunities and increase Amneal sales. This role will work with many different US Government agencies including, but not limited to, DoD, ASPR, SNS, BARDA, FEMA, VA, and PHS.They will proactively identify opportunities and anticipate obstacles based on gathered information and an in-depth understanding of the Federal segment and customer specific insights. They will leverage this knowledge, along with the needs of Amneal, to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and execute strategic business solutions to address all internal and external opportunities. These business plans and strategic solutions are clearly outlined in their customer operating plans. They will oversee account performance to ensure that markets for the generics, specialty, and biosciences products are properly identified and penetrated to ensure patient access to Amneal products within the Federal Agencies.
Essential Functions:
- Develop robust account strategies and competitive bids that create access and procurement/contract opportunities for the portfolio and drives growth. Position and market Amneal Pharmaceuticals as a valued partner to targeted government accounts moving from a transactional relationship to trusted advisor. Monitor government RFI/RFPs, identifying potential opportunities that align to Amneal’s business objectives. Ensure close collaboration with other Generics colleagues, Government Affairs, Medical, Marketing, Finance, Analytics and Sales teams to capture relevant federal channel insights, identify data gaps, develop compelling value propositions and ensure teams are equipped with the right tools.
- Track trends and events impacting the federal market and translate into meaningful insights to inform strategies for senior leadership to address them. Lead the project management for implementation of critical government business initiatives to drive and measure successful execution. Participate and serve on industry-related associations, steering committees, and networking organizations to protect & promote the Company interests. Represent Amneal at key trade and customer meetings / conferences.

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) Business or science-related major - Required
Experience:
- 12 years or more in Pharmaceutical Industry experience
- 4 years or more in Pharmaceutical National Account Management experience
- in Retired Military
Skills:
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) - Advanced
- Self motivated with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple customers simultaneously - Advanced
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel and PowerPoint) - Advanced
- Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed and unstructured environment - Advanced
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, and strong people management experience - Advanced
- Demonstrated strategic planning capabilities - Advanced
Specialized Knowledge:
- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the Military health care system and Veterans Administration Health care system, as well as impact of commercial market to Tricare and VA Community Care.
- Understanding of all available Federal Contracting Vehicles and federal/government pricing & calculations.
- Basic understanding of CBRNE and Medical Readiness.
Licenses:
- Security Clearance-Upon Hire-Preferred
The base salary for this position ranges from $180,000-$230,000. Amneal ranges reflect the Company’s good faith estimate of base salary that Amneal reasonably believes that it will pay for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors, including but not limited to, qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
