Nemours is seeking a Lead Non-Sterile Technician to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE.
The Non-Sterile (NS) Technician Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, monitoring and maintaining pharmacy services in partnership with the Lead Non Sterile Products Pharmacist for Nemours/AIDHC. This Technician Supervisor is responsible for assuring patient safety through providing operational, and regulatory knowledge of non-sterile products. This Technician Supervisor, in partnership with the Lead Pharmacists and Operations Managers will provide oversight of Non Sterile Products operations and compounding personnel, while maintaining accuracy, safety, and the reduction of waste through the implementation of Standardized Operating Procedures. This is a Full time Certified Pharmacy Technician position, day shift/ rotating evenings, every 3rd weekend requirement.
Duties include managing the aspects associated with compounding non-sterile pharmaceuticals by leading pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in daily workflow accuracy and insuring productivity.
Essential Functions
1. Coordinate and organize technical processes by establishing workload requirements and delegating assignments to maintain an appropriate staffing level and ensure that the services and responsibilities of the department are provided in a timely and quality manner
2. Identify and resolve pharmacy line service problems in coordination with the Lead Pharmacists and/or Operations Managers
3. Coordinate production schedules based on projected staffing patterns, workload, and utilization in such a way that minimizes stock outs (<1%) and expiration date wastage
4. Monitor and ensure practice conforms to the Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures and Reliable Methods for the appropriate and efficient preparation and utilization of non-sterile pharmaceutical products within Nemours/AIDHC, including:
5. Ensure appropriate and competent technicians are staffed appropriately for the efficient and effective operation of the Non Sterile Production in the Department of Pharmacy.
6. Develop procedures that ensure the pharmacy department meets all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements posted by the FDA, Board of Pharmacy, Board of Health, DEA, CMS, USP 795, USP 800 and Joint Commission
7. In partnership with the Lead Pharmacists lead and ensure ongoing measurement and improvement of pharmacy operations
8. Participates in hospital and departmental Continuous Improvement (CI) activities
9. Participates in interview and employee selection process
10. Maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree preferred
More than 5 yrs of hospital pharmacy experience
CPhT required
