Maxor National Pharmacy Services Corporation is seeking a highly competent, customer service oriented, full time Pharmacy Technician to fill our Patient Care Coordinator/Technician position at a clinic-based pharmacy located in the Allies for Health + Wellbeing Pharmacy in Pittsburgh, PA. Maxor offers an integrated approach to patient care, as the pharmacy team collaborates closely with the doctors and nurses in the healthcare center. The pharmacy team will be an integral part of the care team for each patient. So, you would have a direct hand in improving outcomes. Job Summary
The Patient Care Coordinator possesses a full proficiency in all areas in the pharmacy and is able to apply a thorough knowledge of the competencies described in the Essential Functions below.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (These duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):
Assist pharmacists in providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacy services.
Provide friendly and cooperative patient service.
Enter patient data accurately.
Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.
Pull and count medication from shelves accurately according to label generated at time of dispensing for final check by Pharmacist.
Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
Assist in inventory control such as auditing receipt of goods, inventorying, stocking, pricing, monitoring usage, and correcting pricing and quantities in the computer.
Remove, pick up, and/or deliver drug orders if necessary.
Inform the pharmacist of any alerts form the pharmacy system, such as contraindications, interactions, and allergies.
Verify NDC number to pull and count medications.
Participate in activities resolving unsafe and unsanitary practices.
Issue supplies to other pharmacies or departments as needed.
Pre-pack and document medications accurately as needed.
Participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
Maintains regular attendance according to established policies.
Must pass and maintain security clearances as required by client(s).
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Active/Clear Pharmacy Technician registration in PA
- Current PTCB Certification, or ability to obtain your certification within 6 months (MAXOR WILL ASSIST)
- A minimum of 2 years retail pharmacy experience
- Proven track record of exemplary customer service
- Computer experience mandatory
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care
- Ability to operate various pharmacy software programs/equipment proficiently
