Overview
The Manager, Proposals will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the proposal team, including managing the bid workload, ensuring accurate and on-time bid submissions, developing strategic and persuasive content, leading the development and submission of complex proposals, ensuing proposal content stays up-to-date, working with Sales and Underwriting leadership to develop and implement bid strategy, and coaching and supporting the proposal team’s professional development.

Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day workload of the MaxorPlus proposal team.
- Provide leadership and oversight to the Proposal Team (including Content Writers, Sr. Content Writers, and Lead Content Writers) with the management, production, and submission of all proposals.
- Lead the development and submission of key strategic opportunities.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and leaders across the organization on areas of process improvement.
- Manage the proposal content database for accuracy.
- Support the Vice President, Sales Operations and Senior Vice President, Sales, with projects as needed.
- Work closely with sales leaders to develop, understand and implement bid strategy.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with consultants through the bid submission/follow-up process.
- Hire and train new proposal team members as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, marketing, or related business required.
Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably PBM or other healthcare related, including strategy development and implementation, content creation, and leading the development and submission of a variety of proposal types including complex requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), and other proposal-related artifacts. APMP Foundation certification required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive understanding of contractual terms and conditions.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with team members of all management levels and within and across departments.
- Project team leadership experience required to help coach, guide, and mentor team on successful proposals while driving team to meet demanding deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment both independently and as a team player.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up.
- Strong professional and persuasive written/verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Deadline focused and able to work under time constraints.
- Experience working with remote teams and supporting remote meeting environments.
- Excellent grammar, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing complex information and developing clear and concise proposal language.
- Ability to effectively delegate and provide key oversight in content quality and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic to achieve company goals.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite
